Did someone mention full fendered T tubs. I have posted mine before, but seeing as my daughter owns it now, I will post it again. Pat.
Hello "rfrontenac". You have to do an intro. you can copy off mine if you like. I like long walks on the beach, cinnamon, and ass fisting midgets". So , rfrontenac how tall are you ?
Meatball, the reason it looks like one of the cars from the movie is that is what I was going for. In the first Beach Party movie there is a red tub owned by John Monteiro, an LA Roadster member. It imprinted on me at age 13 and I had to build one. My daughter wants a fenderless T coupe now, so I may build one for her and get my tub back. Been in the family 30 years. Pat.
Here is a new project being built by a friend. He started with a radiator shell, sedan cowl and the rear section of a 4 door touring. Unknown year and model.
Thanks to all who posted civil replies to my question. To the others who insulted me ,if that makes you feel big or superior, fine. I was raised better than to act like that. However,I did do a search before asking question.I saw the info on here. What I meant is where are all of them at the car shows, etc?I just do not see them around anymore. We have a giant car show here every year and maybe 1 or 2 tourings out of 2500 cars.Other shows are same way.Was just curious.thanks
I have noticed this as well but I would think maybe many of them nowadays have been used to build some sort of modified.
i agree with lockwoods. i had a hell of a time finding the back half and wound up useing some really rotted pieces. the front halves are everywhere.... i have two sets of mint ford T stanchions that i would be happy to trade 1 set for a complete chevy windshield and stanchions for my 28ish chevy roadster build...rare for unwanted type deal....sorry for the spam
You know, it's kinda funny. You guys are having a hard time finding rear sections out there, and all I can find out here is rear sections! Granted, I've been looking for '23-'25 stuff, but it seems every rancher and farmer in Arizona cut the back off of his touring at one point here... The fronts are the tough find!
Never a lot of phaeton hot rods...less now. Saw a few during the resto-rod era. Here's a 1918 Chevy for sale locally that got me to thinking...
i think around here most of the rear halves have been tossed and the fronts are thought to be worth keeping.... usually after i buy or decide to use something a better example suddenly appears....not the case in touring rear halves so far.
If anybody is interested.......AV8-Rider on here has a great T Touring for sale with a V8-60 in it........PM him for pics and info if you're really looking for one.....one thing.....the car is in Norway...... CB
Yeah I need to let the Tub go. It's over there in the classifieds I think these Touring/phaeton based Hot Rod has a nice feeling to them. Just makes you want to fill it up with friends and head out on the open roads. I love this one. flyin t's old tub seen in Hop Up some years ago. and you can always make a "roadster" out of it if you choose. Paul
