I got the drivers side fitted today:D I am hopefully getting a new tig next week which would be rad! if not jeroma is a sweet heart and will let me use his.

so next step will be getting these two pieces welded then hammered and dollied all nice and pretty.

This is my first real attempt at tig welding sheet metal and definitely my first attempt at metal finishing so I am pretty nervous but very excited to do this:D

I am very fortunate to have some very dialed in guys around me that will keep me from screwing anything up too bad!

it may not look like too much but fitting these pieces was pretty in depth, for my skill set at least...

hopefully in the next month there will be a lot of vp made by getting the rear window nailed in and getting the sail panels done.

as always guys, thanks for those of you that comment and give words of encouragement:)

    much appreciated.

Those two rear panels are really turning out awesome. Now it's time to kick it in to high gears and devote your Saturdays to locking yourself into the shop and finishing it!!!

  13. Hello from the High Point/Greensboro area of NC! You guys are doing some killer work on that Chop! It looks great and I am glad to see the chop is staying proportional, I'm tired of all the over chopped Bel-Air's I've seen running around the last few years! Right now I'm wishing I lived in Charlotte so I could drag my 54 to your shop and hang out with you guys! Keep up the good work and I'm definitely subscribing to this thread!

Well one weekend come on out to our breakfast and hang out a bit. If not that, drag your ass to our Auto Fair After Party this April on Saturday. Should be even better then last year!!!

Sick work. Can't wait to snap my neck one it's back on the road.

  16. Will do, I've missed the Auto Fair too many times in the last 2 years..school got in the way! Unfortunately I will be showing up to events in my Explorer instead of my 54 because I can't keep the thing running good enough to make it to a show...I guess I could always drag it down to Charlotte on a flatbed...ha ha ha!:D

No problem there. I don't have a running car either. There's plenty of cars around the shop to look at so not having one is not soo bad. Make sure you plan on staying Saturday to Sunday autofair weekend. Our party doesn't get started until 5-6ish and it normally runs pretty late with a band, food, and a ton of cars. Don't miss it!!!

  18. Ha ha well glad I'm not the only one in that boat. I will definitely plan on staying in town that weekend, usually do anyways! Last time I was there I was right down the street from the track. Had a late night car show in the parking lots! Looking forward to it for sure, plus it will be cool to meet some HAMBers in person!

I speak 235ese so mabey I can help getcha pointed in the right direction?
    pm me sometime.

    and josh...

    son listen here now...

its not about the size of your penis, its how comfortable you are with it;)

seriously though, if I could afford a blown inline there would be several big smokey burn outs happening, instead it just sounds ruckus with its 190hp!!!:D

i love the chop, it is a perfect chop size and very well done.
    cant wit for more pics

  25. Just cause my dick likes to haul ass don't mean there are any comfort issues or whatever you said :D

See - you'd waste a ton putting a blower on an inline cause it would still sound F'd up and be slow! V8s are cheap compared to the inline stuff. You know I am kdding - I just thought you'd want to be more like Jesse James' Chopper Chevy.

glad at least one person like the last post:)

okay so Damon, our local sheet metal craftsman has been helping with his knowledge telling me which way would be the best to go about what, but yesterday he broke out the planishing hammer on me and took my chop to the next level...

I learned something rather valuable yesterday from Damon, there is a difference between forming and shaping, I had previously just formed my sail panels, and hell I was proud that Jeremy and I had done them and they looked great.

then Damon introduces shape to them...
    gfw.jpg

    form is two dimensional

    shape is 3 dimensional

    wow what a difference!

its weird though you cant place your finger on it, its just really different.
so here is where we started
