Features Bell 4 spoke steering wheel, where to buy?

Does anyone know where I can get a Bell 4 spoke steering wheel like the ones in the pics. Eric (Vaphead) had them but he hasn't got back to me. I don't want a leather wrapped one, just a hard plastic type, if possible.

Watch Ebay under "sprint car parts".The old Bell style had soft rubber rim.
Most of the modern sprint car wheels are plastic or aluminum rims.

I got the 17 inch 4 spoke wheel for my roadster from Schroeder Steering. Very good quality and has the rubber rim.

 

Probably the nicest steering wheel ever. There's nothing like a real original wheel but I'd like to look into the Schroeder ones.

 

Don Orosco sells a PERFECT repro Bell Auto Parts wheel.

 

I've got a repop, rubber rimmed 4 spoker for sale, never used. PM me.

Don't know if you're still looking, but the racing supply joint below has 15" (flat and 2" dish) and 17" 4-spoke Bell style steering wheels.

17" Flat, Stainless-- $100
15" Flat, Stainless-- $95
15" Dish, Stainless-- $75

Less than half the price of the SoCal or Hot Rod company wheels.

Voodoo, if you look closely you'll see the style of wheel he's asking about is still $165 to $195 at Schroeder.

I'm sure it is. Don puts out a super nice & detailed products. I'm not quite sure the price is really reflective on cost plus what ever mark-up he deems necessary.

His parts are certain for a particular clientele.

I have a 17" with a 2" dish that cam off of a sprinter that I will be selling, it's used but in good shape. I need to find a 15" flat one for my project.
how does someone get ahold of don orosco, I keep hearing about his awesome parts but I can't find any web sites for him? how are you supposed to know what he has for sale or producing?

But the name of the business is Specialty Ford Parts. Ask for Jim Gordon, who usually answers the phone, (626) 288-2121, between 11 am and about 4pm (Pacific time) Tuesday thru Friday and sometimes on Saturday. The shop is actually worth a visit if you're in the area. Lots of nostalgia and old hot rod parts.

 

re/ Specialy Ford Parts. I have bought two of their wheels: the smaller, three spoke midget 15" & the larger four spoke 17" sprint car wheel. Both were righteous and I will buy from them again. And, Hell Yes, go inside and drool. It's a time warp if you're into old Fords. CE

 

I have one of his in my roadster. It not only looks exactly like the original it's made the same way too, hardened steel and all.

Schroeder all the way. Had mine for 26 years. Reasonably priced, GREAT quality, comfortable, unless you just have to have a Bell.

 

I just picked up this one and put it in my sedan. It has cool patina. You can find an original if you look for awhile.

Does anyone know if the original Bell wheel was 17" or 15"? Or were both available?

 

I'm using a (cheap) Cal Custom hard plastic rimmed copy in my champ car replica, but I don't know if they are still available or in business even.

 

Both were available...15" were for Midgets/Sprint cars, 17" for 'larger' Sprints and Indy cars. (and '40 Fords...and F100s...and '32s...LOL)

My pal Sneaky and I drove down to Bell Auto Parts in '58 just to buy one for his '29 Rdstr P/U. (from San Jose...we wanted to look the place over...Cragar parts galore!)
