5 years ago my grandfather gave me his 1948 ford f1. All original in beautiful condition. Well it sat for five years in my garage due to the terrible 6v system and never ran right. Two weeks ago I bought a Ron Francis wiring kit and got to work. ( great way to get my mind of the divorce). replaced everything that was 6v to 12v and everything mechanical is now electrical..... Fan,fuel pump, alternator, lights, gauges ec ect ect.. What a freaking thrill it was to turn that key and hear her fire up!!!!!! Next I move on to suspension and have had some great help from Sid @ Dropped Axles.com.. I'll post pics and updates for those of you who share my love for the old farm rod! Flatheads forever..Right??

  7. I read your post to Henrietta the '38 Ford pickup and Ozelle the '55 Ford, and they both send friendly horn honks to you and your '48 F-1. My parents bought the '55 new, and I've had Henrietta since I was 14 in 1966, so I can relate to how you feel about having your grandfather's truck. Look forward to progress reports.

Welcome from Missouri...... I too have my grandpa's truck, however mine is of the chevy variety. You can see it on my facebook page and on my avatar here. Nothing like keeping the old iron alive.

Those Effies make Bitchin' rides. And Ron Francis' kits sure are a pleasure to install, had mine going on near 20 years without a problem. Welcome aboard from Washington.
