what distribitor

    i have a 354 hemi . i want a distribitor that looks right on the car which is a 30 chrysler i would like a hei but not to look hei.i saw a mag distribitor.but dont know if it would fit 50s or 60s era. please give me some options on what distribitors i could use and still look period
     
  2. Use the Stock dual point distributor with a Pertronix unit in it. When the cap is on, you can't tell it's not Stock...

    convert stock dizzy to electronic by sending it to GMC Bubba..
    He did my Desoto...looks stock, full electronic...I hate Petronix....

    You can also ''hide" a MSD box and just use a stock distributor with points to trigger. The points will last forever since they won't be carrying current. (Though this will cost more than a Pertronix solution)

    did they run the mag distributor back in the day?im asking because i saw a mag look a like on ebay and it was hei.
     
  9. Most of those are not true "HEI" but are electronic conversions with a Hall Effect sensor for pickup.
    Pretty much only racers, or hardcore street racers, ran magneto's

    No problem, lets make your stock distributor a HEI , remote mounted module and low resistance coil . Great system looks good with the orginal distributor painted blasck.. i use a dodge reluctor and pickup coil hooked to the hei module on this conversion........pm for details......:D
