56 chevy straight axle question

I have a friend who has a 67 chevy van that he's parting out and it has a straight axle and springs AND a steering box, would that work on a 56? or is it to narrow?

I have a gm van axle under my 56 and it works great. Made some new shackle mounts and steering arm for the passenger side, and actually I can't beleive how good the front end rides....probably because the roads in my town are so crappy. I still use the stock 56 steering box and made my own drag link. See ya man,!!JOKER JASON.
