There's a quote from Lil John Buttera that went something like this...
"Why would I want to hang something that looks like a toilet seat on the front of my Model A"

  2. Cant wait till someone puts a 32 grill on a model A.............but then why screw up a model A :) ...32 grill's the bellybuttons of hot rods.........

haha! Larry, the fronts are 5.50x17 and the rear tires are 7.00x17

    Thanks for the compliment.

They both look so good. It really is hard to choose. I think personally, I like how the '32 shell looks more. Although, there is that "everybody runs one" sentiment that somehow attempts to make it uncool.

I'm no expert, run what you want.

No question about it ... a `32 shell is just about as pretty as it gets. But it's become about as predictable as red rims -- at the last car show I attended I counted 28 Model A's of all kinds; 27 of them had a Deuce shell! So much for the hot rod mantra of rugged individualism, non-conformity, and creativity.

And -- from a purely personal aesthetic -- I think the scale of the 32 shell is wrong for your car. The Model A shell has proportions that are more compatible with the remainder of the build. Run a commercial Model A shell (painted -- not stainless) and save that beautiful `32 for another day.

  9. I do not think it is there yet...got hung up at the dock here in the states for a while...

  10. What do you have no work like me today?

I love the 32 cause the patina is so nice on that grill. Doubt I'd cut it...

I like the 29 shell! They look bad ass with the hood. What happend to those cool louvered sides you had? To me, that made the car...

I agree, smaller lights with the A shell. They just look so bad ass an all bussiness with the A bone frame, and A shell.

Ok... back to baby watching, hahaaa...

1928-29 makes it look like an grandpa's "old timey" hot rod.
1932 steps it up a notch to be a bit more "traditional modern".
    Both look very nice.

  13. I still have that hood...it was made for a
32 shell on a 28/29. If I do go for tge deuce I"ll sell this grill and run another I can cut

Deuce grill most def. For some reason, the A grill with the hood looks like a cat bowing up "fss fss" "hiss".

  15. and he painted it body color!

Been thinking this over for a couple of days. I think for the '32 to look better than the A grill you would have to do something else to the car. The flathead and the brakes are enough for a clean bare bones A hot rod.

  23. I dunno guys, now I'm REALLY leaning twards the deuce. That was one of my favorite things about the car before...so why change now? Either way, I'll get it figured out :D

Curbspeed- Yes, the car will get painted...either this time around or next winter. I really wanna get it back on the road and beat the shit outta it. BUT- when it gets painted don't exspect a mile deep black paint job.
Beside, you know how much us NW guys like beat up junky ol cars ;)

Both look great I love the windshield! As you can tell I opted for the Model A grill but every now and then I thing it would look better with a 32. I like the Model A grill it looks original. You have a great open car!

I am building the same car at the moment and I am keeping the A grill because it just looks right. The 32 is awesome but nobody runs A grills anymore, be different.
