I joined the H.A.M.B. for several reasons, one of which, to get advice on a fan bolt issue I was having. I soon discovered NO ONE still made #12-32 bolts! Many suggested I simply retap, but since I'd never done it, I was nervous about screwing up my fan hub. (I know, I know... it's easy. But hey! I'm new to this stuff.)

Member Dammit came to my rescue, scrounging a full set of eight for the fan along with some of the mounting pieces and sent them from Nova Scotia to California. MY HERO!!!! THANK YOU, DAMMIT! Now I can put my fan back together and get it back in the truck.

And yes... I'm going to learn how to tap things so in the future, I'll not get into this jam.

    I LOVE THE H.A.M.B.!

Actually, no! I tried Fastenal, McMaster-Carr, Allen Bolt, Bolt Depot, H&H Flatheads... and the list goes on and on. No one, but no one had them. I tried gun shops and heavy machinery shops.

But I'm a happy girl now!

You might want to look up a tap and drill chart on the net and add it to your favs...

Just be sure to remember this when someone else is in need of something that you may have. Pass the goodwill on to others. It's a nice habit to get into.:D

A good reason for getting at least a cheap, benchtop sized lathe with thread cutting capabilities. You'll wind up useing it for things you never imagined.

You're welcome, Doctor Destroyer, now how about a couple pics of your F-1 ? My '48 is a very rusty, low milliage, F-135 (2 ton). Great old trucks.

You really are my hero, Dammit! I have a few pics in my profile album, and will add some more in. I agree. They're great old trucks. How 'bout some pictures of your lovely beast!

Like I said, if you're ever in Cali...
