Several people asked about Fabian Valdez's '50 Chevy which won "Best Of Show" , in the Suede Pavilion, I guess. I wasn't able to go, but e-mailed him congrats. He sent me some pics and said I could share them so for those interested, so here they are. As you probably know he's been busting on it for years. Finished it right before the GNRS. Enjoy, Jack

Dumb question, but "What is the color?" Rootbeer-ish?

Looks Great That's the first one that I've seen with the Vent windows removed and it really cleans it up. I like it.

He finished spraying at 3pm Thursday. We starting putting it together at 5pm, then he drove it to Pomona and had it in the building by 10pm.

It's not finished. It still needs to be color sanded and rubbed out.
The interior and glass need to be finished also.

Yeah, it's rootbeer brown with gold and red pearl.

It's going to have vent windows, the side glass is not in it yet.

Here's an outdoor pic to show off the color. It'll look even better after it's rubbed out.

And here's some shots of the custom dashboard and steering wheel with caddy horn ring.

And here's a shot of the "Branch Built" 55 Studebaker V8. This Chevy aint got no belly button!

This is one of my favorite 50 Chevy's, that includes the heavy hitters from the fifties. Timeless styling.:D

  26. Love that car. Everything about it is spot on. Congrats on the "Best of Show" in the Suede Pavilion.

  27. Clean and well-thought out.

The 58 pickup is owned by Rene Lugo. It's actually Fabian's old shop truck. Rene bought it from Fabian and had Vintage Hammer do a facelift on it. It's chopped 3", has custom exhaust pipes running through inverted windsplits in the bedsides, super rare 54 pontiac station wagon taillights, and a custom tailgate and rolled pan.

I will get some pic's of it posted on here.

Congrats, guys, it looked great. I didn't know before that it was Stude powered (what else, huh, Tom?).
