Event Coverage Grand National Roadster Show 2011

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Buick59, Jan 27, 2011.

  1. I had a great this time, as I did last year. I came home very inspired, but am apathetic about acting on that inspiration :D. I think that has more to do with funds than anything else though. Still, there were so many people in attendance it got annoying at times. Very tough to take the pictures I really wanted. Overhearing conversations by many people that were "in my way" made me feel like they really didn't want to be there, or were disinterested in general. Had several people casually walk in front of me inside and outside just as I was about to snap a pic, without even as much as acknowledging I was even there . Still I had a great time looking at all the historic cars as well as the current crop of killer machines. I won't be posting my pics, as about 99.9% of the shots I took I think I have already seen posted. Still a WAY! better time than sitting around the house, or doing chores.

Just returned home tonight - definitely a once in a lifetime event to see and a real challenge to photograph.

Yeah, you got that right sometimes you just have to be real patient and wait for people to move, and that's when you have the split second to take the photo.

So far, the pictures are wonderful! Please keep them coming!! One thing is for sure....there are always such a great group of cars on display -- and history

VERY sad to have had to miss GNRS 2011 - Had to cancel our trip last Wednesday because my dad simply wasn't able to travel that distance. He was very disappointed -

Stunning shot Dan. I sure hope PhatCaddy sees it.

Cuz he did the "Drive In". He had a GREAT spot. Everytime you went in or out of any of the building around it you got a chance to see the Caddy again. AWESOME spot that anyone would convent.

So sorry to hear the news. This explains why I never heard back from ya. Thoughts and prayers your Dad is feeling better soon.

I heard a crazy story from the GNRS. Some guy got thrown out cause he was stepping across the ropes and snooping around in the cars in the Custom's building. Damm!

Josh Mills out of Atlanta or close by built this '35 Ford. It's stunning and he's a ruler much like Rudy Rodriquez.
