During the week in another thread I mentioned having 3 of these & that I'd post pics today. The brunette & redhead are still sealed in the boxes but the blonde had been opened years back.
Nice...."Use Carbon tetracloride to clean window...." Only a chemical compound that makes your testicals fall off and give ya cancer in three hot seconds... I love stuff like that....it was a whole lot simpler time and folks just didnt know how dangerous alot of stuff was...I wish I came up back then... The face thingy is a bit strange though...
It was a stranger, simpler time I guess. When things like a devil thumbing his nose for a radiator cap, hood ornament (or flying donkey with illuminated wings) & a rubber girl (or tiger) head in the back window along with the pipe organ speaker covers were "popular".
What are you talking about? Is there a question in your post , because so far there aren't any answers! What "stranger, simpler times" are you talking about. I've been a car guy all my life (I'm 65) and I've never seen anything like those, especially on a car. The nose thumbing devil ornaments were from the 30s and your blonde thing looks like it's from the 50s.
I'm still at a loss..........what do you do with it?......headrest cover??? Please enlighten me......the HAMB world wants to know. Well, not really.......
It started on the history of tikis & how they relate to hot rodding thread. Someone posted a scan from and old Almquist catalog (that image is now gone from that thread) showing a voodoo shift knob. On the same catalog page showing the shift knob, the car chic was also shown. I mentioned that I had some & would post pics today. Sure didn't mean to create a confusing ruckus. Never claimed they made sense or were traditional. Just more odd crap from a different time. Mentioned in the tiki thread, Mike Ness has the cheetah head in the back window of his '54.
I saw the other thread, but still have no idea what these things are used for. I can't think of any application.
Kind of icronic that the signature line of the guy that started the thread is Just because you can, doesn't mean you should..........
Not nearly as dangerous as the new millenium fear mongers would lead you to believe. The wife and my mom both worked at an eletronics plant that used carbontet to clean parts and both used it no gloves no respirater. my mom is 85 neither one is dead. We used to use it to clean carbs because we had it and it was good stuff. I'm still hear. of course it could be what made me so unpleasent to be around. Ok back on subject what is foney broads head for? It doesn't talk or give driving instructions does it? That would just be dumb to stick something in there to make your driving experience unpleasent.
Add them to the Goofy Gadgets thread if you haven't already. They definitely belong there! In all honesty.......I would love to have all three!
Don't know the chic thing is but my buddy said he knows all about blow-up dolls. Still pretty cool thing.
