At one time you saw a lot of '26-'27 Ts with '28-'29 A fenders on them. But not so much anymore. I think anything newer that '29 would be too big.

Easiest way would be to put the 26-27 coupe body on a model A chassis.

Saw several 26/27 roadsters with A fenders in the late 70s early 80s, don't know what happened to them???

  7. They look great, a pals dad has a 27 roadster with 28 fender, Henry covered all his bases, they match right up!

'26-'27's were Made for an A chassis and '28-'29 fenders. I'm building a '27 RPU with A fenders now.

I've never seen a coupe that had it done, at least personally and taking notice but there used to be and maybe still is a little red roadster in the PNW with A fenders that just flat spun my wheels every time I saw it.

  12. I've been considering this myself with my '27 Tourer - and can't find any pictures either!

I know the car you are talking about! My girlfriend and I met up with him a few years ago in the Plymouth in Northern Cal. or Southern Oregon as we made our way up the coast... Can't remember the guys name, but he does drive that thing!
Total performance out of Connecticut used to do a kit car that was a Pro streeted '27 roadster on a "A" frame with '28 '29 fenders. They seemed to have sold tons of them in the late '80's and early ninties. funny thing though, they're finish example was red, and damn near evey one that I saw finished was red too... Or blue.

I've heard of it being done, and as I prefer the look of early A fenders, would think it an easier deal and look far better than 32 fenders. Gary

i tried it on 28 rails it looks good but doesnt match up as easy as you may think ,,,mabey on t rails the will ,,,,i used 28 dodge fenders as they have a swage line on them making them similar to t,s plus i cut them and widened them 2inches front and 4 inches rear,,,(ford stuf is too precious to cut imho) can post picks soon,,,the dodge fenders had a more swoopy shape like A fenders but had the swage like the t,s plus they were ony $40 for all 4 fenders so i sold my A,s at a healthy profit and hacked the mopar stuff till they fit(cant give mopar stuff away over here!!!!)

and yes i did it on a 27 coupe,,,,,28 coupe or roadster pickup rears will bolt straight up to a 27 coupe and look alot better than originals,,, + they will hide 8-9 inch rims and rubber in stock form ona t coupe,

Bumping this to the top out of curiosity. Not just for coupes, though, since I'm considering this on my 26/27 T Touring.

Here's Monkeybikers T Touring with 28/29 fenders, the rears have had some massaging done.

I was wondering if the rear wheelwells would need any work to fit 28-29 fenders on a t body. Mine don't look like they will bolt right on. 27 t sedan with 28-29 model a fenders.

I'm not sure. I've read a lot of conflicting information. Some say coupe/roadster/pickup bolt on. Others say sedan.

I don't know, however, what the difference is between your sedan's wheelwells and my touring.

I've been doing a lot of research about Model A rear fenders. And, in comparison to a few photos I'm leaning toward using 30/31 A sedan rear fenders. However, I'm hoping to find one of each to test-fit. Whatever I find out I'll be sure to post here.

I can't help you with what fits what.....but if your going to use fenders on a 26-27 the 28-29 fenders are the way to go. Nothing else looks as good IMO. :)

Thank you! That's a super-helpful pic. It looks like they started out as sedan fenders?

You may be right, Tom. For me, I want to retain the integrity of the chassis and since it's a 1930, I'd like to go with all thirty's parts. I may try a set of 28/29 rears and make them fit though.

  27. Nope - coupe I reckon. They had a hole for a foot plate at the top for getting in the rumble seat.

Well I guess I'll make my 28-29 rear sedan fenders work on my 27 sedan. I hate to buy two 28-29 coupe rear fenders and they don't work either.
