I have a 1956 Ford Customline 300 in Long Beach, CA that needs to be drivin' up to Regina, Saskatchewan in about April or May. I have heard of a few transport companies being on here before. Anybody out there who can help?
I didn't have any luck with the shippers on this site, but found http://www.transportreviews.com and was happy with the sipper I picked from the review on the site.
are you looking for truck transport or someone to actually drive the ford up there,as far as tranport companies(trucking) i have used intercity transport, more than once, they are one of the larger companies and they are not more expensive than some smaller local guys and 100% reliable
Was looking for it transported (but whatever works). Thanks for the help guys. Also how much do you think it would cost?
If I recall, BenD was one of the guys here I contacted. Nice guy but we couldn't make our schedules jibe. Go to the review site I posted, pic a couple from the list and they will usually have an online estimator to give you an idea of the price.
I have used RacinMan several times and Hot Rod Tim, both are HAMBers in the O'Dex section. I would recommend both, they are East Coast based. You might want to try someone that is West Coast based and makes the North/South trips. You are best to get quotes from the company you decide to use. If you want a rough estimate, use Google map. Enter the start and stop destination zip code to determine mileage. Some companies charge as much as $1.50/mile, but it will change based on open, or closed transport, and if it is door-to-door, or the vehicle is dropped off at a large city that is close to your final destination. Also, charges vary based on if the car is a driver, or roller.
You're going to need more than that. Yeah BenD is busy. What kind of lead time did you give? He needs time to put together other hauls so that he can give a fair price. I say support the HAMB and the people that support it. Of course you haven't even joined the Alliance so I doubt you understand that kind of thing.
I do custom door to door transport in all lower 48 states. I don't deliver into Canada or Mexico. I have been on the road solid now since September 2009. Daylight operation at 55 m.p.h. No deposit required. Soft ties to the axle & frame. My Vehicle Transport Thread is @ http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=265570&highlight=transport Jim
What the fuck are you talking about? I have done business with lot's of HAMBers what have I ever done to you? Just because I don't have a HAMB alliance membership I don't support people here????? Fuck you!
First off I'll cut you some slack because you're young. But go back and read what and I wrote and who I replied to. It wasn't you. So you're reply is out of context. Fuck me? Really? You can't follow the thread and it's fuck me? Wow. And you should joint the Alliance period...
