Would not call it driving in the snow...had to move the Tetanus Toad a few miles to my house from the shop. Waited until roads were dry.

My '63 is my daily driver and only vehicle, and I got her last summer and had my first winter with her, did just fine. As long as you know how to drive in the snow. Helps that she's a 3-on-the-tree, can downshift and what not when icy. I just believe these cars are meant to be used as that...cars. Although the fellas who deal with that heavy road salt, I completely understand that. We dont use much salt here in Reno, but we do get a lot of snow in the winter. Took this pic mid December, we were just starting to get another load of snow:

Definately was a lot easier to drive in the snow once I replaced the heater core!

I drive my 36 GMC everyday in the snow, and we have had the most snow here in 30 years from what I hear.

One wiper, no sprayer, Weed "Tropic Aire" heater, surprisingly decent to drive, I do bring a blanket though just to be comfortable when it gets to -30 or colder.

Took a girl on a date in it a week ago and she loved it, this was her first foray into this sort of thing too!

Like Randy, VonRigg said, too much salt, too many stupid drivers, and pot holes that I swear I've found several fiat's in....that and most of my cars have no heat or windshield wipers!
Hell I hate driving the newer cars in the salt, it really sucks, my suburban's bumper and frame look like shit because of the damn salt!

Hey Cosmo, that was pretty hairy driving in the sleet yesterday.
Man was I glad to make it home. My old truck is also DD and does
better in snow than anything else I've driven.
The road salt is bad; need to do some welding/repair rear frame kick ups
and in front of spring mounts :(

I tend to drive my 31 Pontiac into the snow for a bit every year, just till it gets too deep or they salt, and they salt so randomly, I never saw any last year, and this year I have seen too much...

Just wait for a good, cold day when the roads are relatively clear and dry.

That was very cool, I need to make a vid like that!

Drive north to where I am, I'm sure I can spare some for you.:D

  23. Chicago is way too salt happy, so I never drive old iron once the salt is out. But my DD is a 2006 Trailblazer SS RWD strippo that last ran a 13.7@101, so she has 300 lbs of sand in the back for traction.

  24. driving this one everyday...

In the past I would ride my 1000cc BMW motorcycle in 6 inches of snow while the chainer Harley-Davidson poser guys were in their living rooms wearing their doo rags and drinking diet coke.

IN the last 2 weeks in snowy, salty Massachusetts I've been surprised by a pretty nice 50 foot looking 1983 ElCamino and a solid looking 1st Gen Mustang coupe out and about at Dunkin Donuts and convenience stores. Teenaged (+/-) drivers, and the Camino had a mangled front fender, like maybe they shouldn't have been out in the snow together.
