I found the guy that owns the factory body molds for these and just purchased two of the brand new bodies. I am going to have the frame guy that builds the frames for my other junior cars build me a more modern frame in exchange for the other body and a paint job. The one big problem is because they are so large they can not be shipped by Greyhound like I do my other junior car bodies they have to be shipped by truck freight (not cheap). It was the same price to ship two of them as it was to ship one so I bought a pair.

The 6" Astro wheels with sawtooth tires look pretty darned good so I need to order a set of those also. The last photo shows how they need to be shipped, strapped upside down to a pallet so they can be easily transferred by forklift at the terminal. I will post more pictures when they come in. Now the hunt is on to find the trim rings for the headlights (Par36 bulbs) and some taillights (I'm thinking model A tails??)

Looks like someone pulled a mold from the little pedal version someone made in the 80s
Below is a picture with some of them on a trailer. Kids can fit in them but not adults, The ones that were made in the 50s like mine on the trailer are much larger.

There is one on Ebay right now (not cheap)

There was on on Ebay a week ago that had the roof cut off that someone was trying to pass off as original. I just made some nameplates for mine next I need to fabricate a correct scale hood ornament.

I wonder where the cast hood ornament came from? It is way smaller than the full size. Wonder if it would fit my larger scale?

When you get the Camero done let me know I can help you market it through my JR car website. Also if you need any vacuum formed parts for the taillight headlight lenses let me know.
Edit" What is the scale on the Camero? I make steering wheels, windshields, hubcaps etc. Wheels are available in black and white and there is a company that makes 6" rims that looks like Cragers

Would love to take a mold of the little hood ornament for my two

I am still messing with the large scale vehicles that fill the gap after the kids outgrow the pedal cars and before they start driving,

Finally making some progress on my Divco JR build!
I went out to the machine shop to pick up a frame for one of my other Junior cars and while I was there I took a few shots of my Divco frame being built. Hopefully it will be running this summer? 6.5HP electric start Honda clone with reversing transmission. Tilt back body for easier entry and exit and the steering will be mounted high like my other frames to allow for more legroom.

That is so cool! I remember getting to sit in one of those when I was a kid in the 60's. It was the coolest thing back then and never seen another one until this thread. Thanks, looks great!

The Divco Junior was the first thing to catch my eye before I saw it was at a repurposed filling station...

The star isn't the right proportions for an original Texaco, but perhaps it's been repainted to get rid of the "T"... If it was the original Texaco sign, the only thing I've seen above one were light fixtures, so the pedal car looks like an addition. The Pizza place used plenty of automobilia inside to decorate the place, including about 3 gas pumps..
