I have read an article somewhere years ago about his Fiat, maybe it was in Hot Rod Magazine. Correct me, but I believe it was a Fiat body on a 32 Ford frame. I was just curious about the engine - what camshaft and displacement, etc. I remember it ran in the 10's. Tremendous car - I wonder if it still exists.

Hopefully someone will scan and post the article. I need to dig out the "Hot Rod Story" video, I believe there is some footage of it at Lion's.

RAT T- Check the Jan 14th entry on the Dragster Insider section of NHRA's web page. Casper's whole collection is pictured.

 

If my memory serves me right (and sometimes it doesn't!) Jazzy ran a '34 Ford frame, probably one of the first Fiat-bodied drag cars....He hole-sawed the frame for lighter weight, and moved everything back, understood weight transfer....All I remember about his flathead was that it was Edlebrock-equipped, think it was 3/8X3/8 but don't remember the details, though I think he ran an Isky cam, ran 132 at 10.90 for fastest coupe at the '55 Nationals...hope this helps

 

I have a couple of old photos from a Divison 3 race here that the "Galloping Ghost" ran at but theuy are not good shots.

 

That flick of Weibe lettin the laundry out is KILLER! That thing is flat gettin it at the moment that picture was taken. Awesome.

You're right, there is a lot goin' on in that Weibe pic....one of the best top end shots I've seen.....

 

Raidus rods all tweaked up... Canards puttin downforce on the tires.. DONOVAN powered... damn its excellent.

Thanks for the information. I was impressed with the car - as you stated - one of the first Fiat bodied drag cars, weight-transfer, light-weight and fast. I am curious about the engine - I am running a 3/8 x3/8 with early speed equipment - Winfield camshaft, and Evans heads and manifold in my 40 coupe. I was wanting to compare internals of the engine to what I am running. Hopefully someone will post and scan the Hot Rod magazine article about the car.
