Just wondering if you guys that are running radirs have some that look like this. I am running 30#s of air in them. 9" on 8" rim.... It looks like it needs a few more lbs from the cupping but the bulge is throwing me off.

    Thanks[IMG]

No familiar with radir slicks but looks to me like too much air .slicks I am use to are not meant to have 30+ pounds of air. 15 to 25 max. as you drive them they will get soft and this will sure happen. that is the thinnest part of the tire

Give the guys at Radir a call tomorrow and see what they recomend for air pressure.
    30 lbs. sounds too high.

X2 thats alot of pressure for a light car with slicks.

Thanks guys...I just found and read the "getting radirs to hook" thread and a bunch of people are running higher than 30?!???!??
I know way less pressure on regular slicks.... I will go back and check again.

mine look similar to that, but not as a high of crown in the middle.
My air pressure is about 22 psi.

check to make certain the bead of the tire wasn't damaged during mounting. I have a slick by another manufacturer that had a damaged bead and it allowed air to get within the plys.

Had mine on my 29 for 3 or 4 years. Run 15 lbs.in them. Hooks up just fine and I drive it everywhere. Last 1/4 mile run at ATCO Raceway N.J. was 11:69.

My Radir slicks were EXACTLY like that on my '55 and the same thing also happened with a friends FED Dragster with Radirs. We've talked about this quite a bit between the two of us. Now I was used to regular drag slicks with about 12-13 LBS of air in them but found that this low pressure was useless with the Radirs. I finally got serious about trying to make them work and kept adding air until FINALLY a nice even footprint was achieved. That was around 32-33 LBS and it obviously worked because massive drivetrain carnage shortly ensued on the first launch. They are NOT over-inflated like many think, but still under-inflated. Radirs are ENTIRELY different than modern low pressure-designed wrinkle-wall slicks and have a very stiff sidewall. Heck, they may actually be closer to Radials than actual Bias-ply.

St.l.g. Thanks for the info! I have read both ways. I only went up to 30.... Guess I'll try a few less than the 15 now and a few more than the 30 I had like you have.
