New guy to the HAMB

Discussion in 'New to the H.A.M.B.? Introduce yourself here!' started by manx4me, Jan 17, 2011.

  1. Hello. Long time lurker, first time poster.
I had lived in So. Cal. until I retired a few years ago.
Have had a 56 crown vic, a 34 3 window project car, and now have a 51 Merc Woodie. As I begin the current rebuild on the woodie I hope to glean as much advice as I can get and take advantage of the HAMB members experience.
    Thanks.

  5. Thanks for the welcome.
Woodie has not made it out of Cali yet. I have been moving to my new home for the last year and still have to move my former garage to my new home. Woodie is completely stock and I hope to leave it that way, I am hoping get lots of advise when time to resurect it for the street.

Having a welcome home party when you get it back?

Cool ride no matter the style.

    Woodies are hot

    Either stock

    or not.

  8. Yes, getting the woodie out of Cali. is a priority. I have had it for over 30 years. Bought it for $800 and a trade for a Tea cart. Drove the car to work for years in the San Fernando Valley. Sentimental value because of the love my father had for that car. I had to build a garage big enough for all my cars and stuff before I could transport the the last out here.

  11. Again Thanks for the welcome.
I should add that my plan is to keep the flathead as long as I can , but I will be looking for ways to up the performance using proven vintage parts and ideas. I love the stock car but am ready to up the Cool factor.
