2011 Darryl Starbird Rod & Custom Show

Please bear with me, I've been fighting computer issues all day, these are going up now, so I'll post some of the H.A.M.B. friendly cars as the shots are available. Check back throughout the day to see if more are posted.

Cool. Glad you posted these. My body is performing it's own version of "A River Runs Through It". How was the turn out?

Thanks for the pics. Looks like it was a cool show.. Funny, being a SoCal/SoFla boy I rather see the cars outdoors, but after being in New York these last 3 weeks. I realize why they're held indoors.. F this snow and cold weather....

Its not done yet, hopefully I get to pick it up tomorrow and then I have to get a new driveshaft or get this one balanced, probably just a new one.

Hopefully next week I can drive.

I've been there myself a few weeks ago, make sure you drink some gatorade, stay hydrated. Turnout was low in cars and it looked like spectators, but the overall quality was up quite a bit.

I will have to check the dates to see if I can make it, but I'm sure down to go to any show, 25 on the list for 2011 so far :)

Thanks, I'm not very happy with the shots, but I never am when it comes to this show, it's never my best stuff.

Damn the man, and the snow!

You're welcome, and thank you! I'm uploading the last 90 or so right now, I'll pick out some decent ones and continue posting here for everyone.

Thanks for the pics, Travis, and for the more complete version on your website. Are you going to KC or Tulsa?

Travis you're a genius. The girls are all put to bed, club took first and my restored A took a top 5, hasn't been shown for at least 30 plus years. Great time seeing everyone and thanks again for all the great pix. Its a real pain in the ass but damn what a great time we had! Thanks again to all the hoodlums!

The plan is to hit both KC WoW and the Tulsa Starbird show. :)

Thanks for the kind words my friend! It was a blast to see you and your 30's! How did the revenge for the cat box incident turn out? I'm going to have to watch myself around all of you :).

Okay here's the next group of shots.

Now, this dragster is built with modern materials & techniques but it's supposed to be able to pass as a '68 era sled. Pretty damned cool if you ask me.

How about a 36 Ford Sedan, that was cut in half basically with a 40 Ford truck cab back welded on, then a custom built bed added on, suicide doors... etc etc etc.

I love Jack's hi boy coupe and Doug's 49 Chevy. Good photos! Sorry I couldn't come this year but I was far away.

Had a great time this year, Mauraders got 1st. in club display. Looks like they need to do something to get a bigger crowd of lookers. Enjoyed seeing all my car family& friends. I hope the show goes on so I can keep getting my winter fix, I don't think I can wait untill spring to see those guys.

Kool Pics Travis! thanks for posting them.

It was the best Starbird show that I had been to in a while. Car count was down but
man the quality made up for it. They had some very kool stuff this year, Last year we
were ready to leave after an hour this year we stayed over five hours. It was worth
the cover charge. I'm looking forward to Tulsa.

Had a good time hang'n out all of my Kansas friends and the Mauraders display was
very kool. I was wanting to ask where you found the big tube of glue? It was put'n
    off some kool funky fumes....

    Happy Trails, Mick

The blue bubbletop sedan is Starbird's newest? I'm completely wiling to be the only one here who likes it. Matter of fact, I like it a LOT. I know this is redone from the leftovers from the 'modernized' version of the Lil' Coffin, but this is WAY more tasteful than the first modernized Coffin. He hit it on the nose this time.
