I lived in Staunton, VA. from 1960-66, remember the Lickliter Bros 1960 champion coupe well. Our school bus drove by their shop, you could see the back of it, couldn't tell what the heck it was, I was guessing a coke machine or wild hotrod!?! Then I saw their victory in HRM, they let me visit their shop. Too cool!
Va Hamb, looks like a picture of their car on your post, but you mention another driver... didn't know about that... fill me in
Those old home built cars had so much creativity, good ole American ingenuity, & were wild & crazy. Modern drag racing bores me to tears, more interested in street rods & sprints nowadays......

That turbo flathead is too cool, totally unique, never saw anything like that.
I wonder how fast it went? Powerglide tranny?!?
I'm guessing it was a lot of work & creativity for fairly slow times... anyone know?

Oh wow, so glad I found this thread! My dad, Bob Brommer, turned the wrench on Sudden Death and ran her a couple times too. Thank you so much for posting these!

No legroom in this one. There is a new maker of 'glass Bantam coupes, flyandy79. He had one on ebay last month for $2300, #320502302309.

I always liked the comp coupes.... Eddie Potter's Sudden Death and Pat Foster's repop of the Flamin Frank Pedregon coupe inspired me to build this...
The chassis is a 67 Don Long chassis (as told to me by Pat Foster) and I used one of Mike Guffey's bodies... A pic of it is in this thread a lil earlier on... We did a lot of mods to fit the chassis, but I'm happy with the way it came out. The engine is one of my 392 Hemi's...built to cackle on 90% Nitro.....

First off, i love you and this Guffey person----in a platonic way.

    2) Second, could i bother you with the exact size and brand, and if possible, model number of the tires?

    a) The exact size, brand, backspacing, bolt pattern, and if possible, model number of the wheels/rims?

    Thanks.

The tires are M&H Racemaster...16 inch rim...12 inches wide.. They are called their nostalgia top fuel tire. Still available. The rims are the ET "Fueler" http://www.etwheels.com/et/fueler.html 16x10, I don't remember the back spacing off the top of my head. Every car I build is different, so its tough to remember each one..lol Hope this helps....
