So sorry for your loss. Only those who have experienced this can know how much it hurts. I lost my son in Afghanistan and he was my best friend also. Keep doing the things you loved to do together. It will hurt at first but will make you smile at the same time.
A person really doesnt know this fear until they have children. It may be morbid, but sometimes I look at my 2 yr old daughter and think "what if". I cant even bear to hold onto that thought, I have to switch it off right away. My sincere condolences.

I have no idea how miserable that can be , I am so sorry to hear about your loss , nothing is so un-natural as a parent burying their child , I hope you know that the good lord would not put anything on your shoulders that you cannot handle , just trust in god , and know that your son was one of the greats , he recieved a early invitation to heaven , you have to be someone special for that kinda invite.....
