Anyone on the HAMB collect the PPG paint posters from Darrell D. Mayabb? I have most of them but short the 2003 poster with the chopped Merc and the first one that I believe was produced in 1996. I heard there was none produced in 1997 and the 1998 was commissioned by Pat Anderson for PPG. I have a couple extras for trading. 1998, 2006, 2008

I don't collect his posters BUT Darrell's a GREAT guy. I always enjoy chatting with him when I run into him.

I believe there were 14 produced from 1996 until 2009. All were produced by Darrel Mayabb for PPG except for the one year mentioned before. I have 12 of them now.

    Yep!
Just another of the many things I collect that don't seem to get anywhere but a box in the basement.....I think I have all but the one you show. I'd have to dig them out again to check. I think the one pictured is the first one....right?

No that is the second one by Pat Anderson. The first one was from 1996 and none were produced in 1997. If I'm wrong someone please correct me. I believe the first one had a 49-50 Merc on it.

Darrell has a website y'all know...??? He's a local guy and I've known him since 1965, he even wrote a story of his hi school '55 Chevy, called "The Redheaded Flea" for one of my books-- "Recollections, Regrets and Random Acts".

All (I think he still has all of them) of his PPG posters can be purchased from him there, as well as other posters he's done : www.automotivegraffiti.com

I have them all (love his work!) and I may have an extra of the ones you are missing. I will do some looking and PM you once I dig into them. My brother-in-law works for PPG and always gave me a few every year so I should have extras. My favorite is the Willys one.

Darrell is one cool guy.His art studio is amazing. He has a guest book there that he has had everyone famous car related sign .They were given a tour of his studio and didn't get out the door before signing. The Who's Who big names are impressive. We brought Tom and Deanna Mc mullin there when they were in town.Tom was impressed .If your ever in Denver give Darrell a call for a visit.

Thanks wlspdshop. Standup guy to deal with! I got my poster in the mail last Friday. I think the only one I'm short now is the 2003 poster. I believe it has a chopped purple Merc with a 41 Ford pickup in the back ground. That is until a new one comes out in the late fall.

Depends on the year produced. The early ones are getting harder to find and only so many were produced each year. I have one extra of the Pat Anderson 1998, one of the 2006 Mayabb and two of the 2008 Mayabb. Willing to trade for a 2003 or new 2010 poster just out. PM me.
