He needs to have a phoenix embroidered into the upholstery. It would be appropriate... :D

He said something about having one put on it somewhere.
I think its a great idea also.

I put it on the gas tank if it was mine! =)

  8. Ok, I guess I missed the "mild" chop. I suppose if it was a little more I would have noticed it. Nice job on the save. They are very cool cars. Look at Plowboy's beauty that he is building. That 32 would be perfect with a set of Halibrands or steelies with no caps and Hurst slicks on the back. Just saying.

Progress has slowed, I've been stripping every thing back down, have the frame ready to go to the powder coater tomorrow, going all silver, will just paint the reveal area the body color, leaning towards grey, with blue guts. Am also stripping the body down to bare metal, with a heat gun and putty knife, slow, slow but not dusty. I spent most of today pulling staples and removing what remaining upholstry there was. I got all of the wiring straightened out and tied up, need to pull the gages and send them in to autometer for repair, all they need is the lenses replaced, they are all cracked from the fire, still work.

Wow, nice work. Glad to see it saved. I can tell you one thing; if that was my car and I couldn't get it back for whatever reason...I'd have kept the damn license plate!

Kickin asses and takin names! So proud you are doing this for this great ride. I am so pleased at the amount of things that survived and fuction properly. I did a burned 57 Chevy and did treat the burned metal with some special product, that was in 1960 , can't remember what I used. A super big! ATTA BOY ~sololobo~

I would believe that it only looks easy because of who has it and is doing the work.

An easy 50% of the guys who saw the first photos of the car for the first time most likely figured that the car was a total and who ever bought it from the auction would buy it to salvage the usable pieces. A majority of those who saw it as a rebuildable car probably figured that it would need a new frame and a back section for the body to be right. I take my hat off to Tingeazer for bringing the car back and doing it with what was there to begin with for the most part.

Yeah, and for those that don't know..
This is just ONE GUY doing ALL this. He hasn't had any help.
Just an old geezer in his little shop out behind his house.
(OK..granted... its a pretty nice shop and he's a pretty talented geezer)
This is NOT a rod shop team project.

  30. Its great to see this one get saved. cant wait to see the progress.
