Great starting line prep picture #6. But the NFL outlawed the stuff in the 80's I believe:D

Used to help a friend out at his speed shop, made trips to Pfeiffers all the time for stuff.
That is one of Jay Miners' cars.Quite a character, ran lots of S/S's and funny cars here in the northeast. Was a regular at South Glens Falls Dragway,on some of his cars he had the SGF strip name painted on them.Got bunch of pics of his early stuff.
Check out rear quarter where it says Dons Porting Service.Don Greens' shop did the machine work on my 287's.Must have been pretty good cause I buzzed those things to 9800 rpm a lot.Posting a pic of my wagon with Dons on the fender.

The injected Stone T was so cool. Its second rendition with the more refined chassis from 1968 or 69 made for a giant killer when traction was at a premium. Solid low eights while running what was even then considered old school Hillborns. Only Mike Sullivan's injected Topolino could match it. And when it resurfaced in 1970 as an all new blown car, it was truly one of the most competetive altereds around, holding its own against even twin engined gas rails and and injected A/FD's.

Long time lurker. Grew up in the midwest and went to school in Denver in the early 70's. Pictures i will be posting for the most part came from Rockford (Byron Dragway) with some from Continental Divide, Bandimere, and I70 Dragway in Denver.

That Bubba Newnam Charger was the ol' Gene Snow/Cragar "Air Car"
After cutting out a bunch of added chassis bracing,Bubba ran it with Smoker Smith's circuit

    51 Bird:

I knewthat but I was wondering what ever became of him as thats the only car I ever seen him in.

Also wanted to mention I got all my slides scaned now so there will be a lot of stuff never seen before. It will be from stockers to T/F. There is close to 5,000 photos.

I called these, The Good, Bad & Ugly as some of the shots are that good.

    Hope you enjoy them

    Thanks,

    Plum

Good to hear, Plum.Glad they are scanned.I know these will be great.
Nice shot of Tommy Groves'Mustang and Dave Strickler with the nose of his vette. If I remember Dave did not care much for the vette, would not handle for crap.

Hey Nitrofc, nice job of filling in for Plum.
