Here is a very nice Comet I saw at a cruise, the owner was nice enough to move it so I could get better pictures.

Stage I - "Big fin '61" junkyard rescue had dissolved front right suspension, inner fender and rad support, remained yard-art for a few years:

Stage II, got to rebuilding front end, added potent 250 cid performance six, Cobra-Z T5, 3.80 Posi, Frame conn's, Hooker headers, disc front brakes and made legal on the road:

Stage III - cleaning it up somewhat , fabbin' radiusizied rear whell wells, teardrop hood and rollcage, even some real paint !:

Just wanted to share what I found while rummaging through my mom's old pictures a while back. My uncle worked for Bill Stroppe for a large part of his life and was one of the drivers for the Comet Durability Run for 1965. They drove 16,247 miles from the southern tip of South America to Fairbanks, Alaska. After my parents wedding, my uncle drove them off in one of the 1965 Durability Comets. Here's a link to an article full of pictures of the run.

And the wedding pictures of my parents...

  25. Here is my 67 390ci Caliente convertible. I love the car, but I need to replace the torque boxes because it had been parked in the rain and the water draining between the top and the body has rusted them out. It is a fun car to drive, and with the posi rear end, it launches superbly.
