Thursday is the day to go. Hopefully this year I am not rolling in right at 9pm.

 

I plan on going if there is an open seat on the bus from Dayton.

Finally going to bring the wagon, and some other hooligans to the show. Finalizing plans this week, and send in the registration. Looking forward to it!!!

Do we pay an extra 25 to have a car and a mini in the show????

I got my hotel room today through the Autorama/Championship Auto Shows website. I'm staying at the Book Cadillac for 3 nights for only $355. That's walking distance or a short people mover ride from Cobo. Its also the nicest hotel You're going to find. I've been staying there since they performed a 200 million dollar renovation and reopend in 2008 but not last year because it got too damn expensive. I looked at a few travel sites and the Book Cadillac is in the $700-$800 range for the show dates. Even the swanky Fort Shelby was around $550.

I was planning on staying at the Hilton Garden Inn over in Greektown For $350 until I found out about the deal for Autorama. The promotion goes through 01/28/11 or until the rooms are sold out. If you haven't gotten your room yet you should try out the B-C, I promise you won't be disappointed.

C'mon Bob how could I say no to the kind of opulence and sophistication the Westin Book-Cadillac affords? However, when it comes time to have a drink I'll walk across the street to the bar in your hotel. Here's a couple pics from the B-C. The flatiron building in one of the pics taken from my window is the C. Howard Crane masterpiece, the Lafayette Building. Unfortunately when you guys get to Detroit all you'll get to see is a lovely parking lot where it once stood

 

No pictures of the $$$$BMW $$$$ that was stolen from the front of the hotel?

Well,... Not really,.. but it had to be said.

 

My buddy and silent HAMBer Frank Morawski will be bringing the Fred Carrillo roadster up from Maryland. Two of the guys who were key in its restoration will be riding shotgun as they couldn't make it to Pebble Beach last August. Look for it upstairs,

 

I had planned on doing that,but they accepted the van for the basement

 

i will be there with the kopper krate. my 32 coupe that was a 4 door sedan.

 

Can't wait to see this thing!

 

I recognize this roadster. I will be there, probably standing around this thing. Rich, remind Frank to bring my khaki pants that I left in the trailer, I may need them if I ever get back to Pebble.

 

The gang and I are working day and night to get the "Imperial Speedster" done for the show.
