It was on TCM last week. It was the extended version with Harrison Ford singing.

I'd forgotten how the music was woven into the scenes.

Going to see it at the theaters here in OC next Wed with a bunch of SoCal Hambers....looking forward to seeing the parking lot full of ol' cars when we all walk out at the end, should be good fun!

Still one of my favorites . I got it on DVD so I can watch that one anytime I want to . I have a lot of the great car flicks from way back .
I did meet Paul LaMatt a couple years ago . Got his autograph on a picture of him in the car with a cigarette in his mouth ! Hell of a nice guy too . He has made a lot of pictures and stared in some of the TV horror flicks as well . There was an awful lot of talent that came from that movie !
Still remember the first time it came out and we all went to the drive-in to see it in my 69 Dodge Super Bee . Those were the good old days !

Same here. I asked for it for Christmas but Santa didn't come through, I just got my copy from Amazon tonight. Collector edition that has the "making of" doc with it. Also picked up the California Kid and the Worlds Fastest Indian..all for under $30. I'd like to have the Lively Set, but I havent been able to find it yet. Great flicks for inspiration.
