New guy from McKinney, Texas (north of Dallas). Haven't had a "hot rod" since the 80's, got back into going fast on 4 wheels a few years ago. Currently have a C6 Corvette as a go fast toy, but even though it's fast and reliable it has no soul. I need something a little older that I can work on and drive, which is what brings me here. Looking to replace my daily driver (2000 Cadillac STS, for sale or trade) with something a bit older and fun to own. If you've got one of the following cars that runs/drives I'm looking for a project. Only problem is that I want something cheap. 55-56 Chevy 2 door (probably not gonna happen because they're too much $$$) 64-66 Thunderbird (would consider 61-63 but prefer the 64-66) 63-64 Impala 2 door hardtop (would also consider a 65 Impala 2DHT) 64 Fairlane 2 door hardtop Cheap and daily drivable are my favorite things.
That's why I need cheap! I'm 40 with no kids and 2 jobs and car payments on the Vette. Not the typical rich doucebag Corvette driver (although I am losing my hair, so I kinda fit the Vette driver profile ). And the Caddy is 11 years old and paid for. Wanna trade for it? I'm broke but always find money for car stuff.
.....Welcome......I Have'nt seen to many cheap hotrods......good luck on that.....enjoy the H.A.M.B.....you can still have fun and you will get alot of free advice....
How about Frugal, instead of CHEAP ? Welcome to the H.A.M.B. firstnomad www.angelfire.com/jazz/flatlandstudio
Frugal sounds better, I'll go with that. If I had money I would go crazy on the Classified forum, too many nice cars on there for sale.
