Ok here is some pics of some Anglias that were in my neighborhood when I was a kid. Maybe this will clue you guys in as to why I'm a little fond of'em.
Sorry for the picture quality, just snapped a few of dads old pictures on my cell phone while we were over for thanksgiving! I"ve gotta get a scanner he has alot more of these than I thought!

    So here's a little teaser!

Oh yeah, the last pic is of the garage down the street, it was kinda the community hot rod shop, everybody just hung out, wrenched on their cars, and helped each other out. The garage was owned by Poke Johnson. That's a cherry '34 vicky first, followed by an Anglia drag car, then a chopped thames project, the brown street rod anglia, a '33 Willys sedan, then the black and flamed anglia in the first post. Like I said I've gotta get a scanner!!!!!

Here is some of Ol' dads as well, all of these were from the early 70's, along with the pictures from the previous post. The white/ribboned Anglia
got some coverage in Rod Action while at the Nats. in Winston-Salem.

Hey and I slipped in his daily driver from back then, '68 427-430, 4sp., 4.56 geared roadster!!! Those were the days!! Man, would those floopans get HOT!!!

There were two in my town when I was a kid, a white one with fogged lines all over, kind of similar to the white one in the first post, it was rumored to have an injected early hemi in it, but I kinda suspected even at the time that it was BS, and a guy that lived a couple doors down from my cousin Jack had a turquoise one with green tinted windows and a 283/4 speed.

Here is a picture of a mates Pop`,he has had the car since around 1973, he`ll never ever sell it, won`t paint or trim it, it has a very warm 302 with a t5 drivetrain..he has never bought car mags, or gone on a computer....it has served as his work transport and family car and he has raced it, it has over 180,000miles on it since he got it ....he babies the hell out of it mechanically but is not interested in fancy paint etc....pure hot rodder.

I bought this one for $15 in 1965

I sold it to a buddy, he put in a 340 Mopar and a Torqueflite, straight axle shown here in primer here at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, 1969

now in blue primer, photographed at the Santa Anita Race Track parking lot, 1969

here we are in Newport Beach along with Dale Giese's 427" Ford Hillman....neither car was ever on a drag strip...they were true daily drivers.
Back in the 1960's we didn't have two cars...we drove our rods everyday.
Us rumbling down Pacific Coast Highway in these two cars was just way too cool. Everyone just went nuts.
We DID have fun...(well, we still do...41 years later!!! :))

I still have trouble attaching pictures from my library. This site wants pics reduced to 195, and I don't understand how, (PC stupid)
