it would look pretty goofy if the axle wasn't narrowed

Thanks LilMo, I'm dropping a 350 in it. The axle has been narrowed at one time but I left it as I bought it, just got lucky. Also got lucky with the 8" in the rear. Still trying to figure out what I'm gonna run for steering.

I have an aluminum corvair box on mine. Its compact and you can get your hands on one relatively easy.

  7. In 1968, I drove my wife from Bedfordshire to the USAF Hospital in South Ruislip (London) while she was in labor. We were in my 1953 Morris Minor, which I believe had about 25 HP, and with the pedal to the metal, it would do about 60 mph. That was my most white knuckle drive ever. I had to crank it with the hand crank, as my battery was low. A baby girl was born that day, and just to start my day off by reminding myself how old I am, I will mention that the baby girl has been retired from the USAF for two years. I paid $50.00 for the car, drove it for two years, and sold it for $50.00.

Killer-D, you done me right! The stripes and lettering put the personality to Mo.
Thanks again, hope to see you at 2010 Rebel Run, or somewhere.

I had a series 1 low light and it had rack and pinion, and also have never heard of a factory steering box set up.

Finally got "chuck" in paint! Still gotta do a lot of reassembly and odds and ends. But I need it driving by march 26th for the local drag strip 50th anniversary. Wish me luck.

The guy I bought my Austin from this summer had 6-8 Morris' sitting around, and all complete, but needing work. Pickups, cars, wagons, panels, etc. Didn't seem real open to selling them, but after talking with him he thought a couple might go at the right price.

WOW, This was the pale yellow Morris was'nt it? It was on our posters one year for Bremerton Raceway. One other car that suffered the same fate was a Chevrolet Vega, that was a stick shift car also. It broke all the "hardware store" bolts on launch, and the new owner stayed in it until it was too late. That little Morris was a nice piece. Butch/56sedandelivery.
