hey thanks alot, and all the others on here for your advice, im taking everything into consideration, i did end up buying a straight axle earlier this year, no it isn't an ibeam that i wish to have but what can you do, as for the other guys,

the visor, kinda has grown onto me, as i've never seen somthing so dumb but if you look at it in real life, it looks pretty rad. it is all metal, a piece has been fabbed and fitted, welded, bondo'd nothing i can do to fix that at the moment,

frame is somthing to think about, alot of work has been put into it, but time will change, first off i will be using this car as my everyday driver, so control is somthing important, even though the rustang II is a pos and i don't like it my self ( the looks atleast ) if im not satisfied with the performance ill drop the straight axle into it,

this ain't to weekend job, it's going to take time and money, but it has to go through inspection so if somthing is wrong, i have to change it, and with you guys letting me know the ups and downs, it will be easier for me to do so,

    thanks!!!

you said you picked it up for the right price? and it was half done? so I'm going to guess its a budget build?? my best advise is to stay the course, I couldn't see the frame to say its not good I have a M2 on my A, wish it was an I beam, but its not! It drives and rides better then....well you know:eek: they can't all look like the" model trad rod"

If you listen to alot of the advise you are getting here on the HAMB you will end up with a nice car eventually. Hang in there and dont get offended.

Looks like a street rod gone bad. But it's a start. Wish I would have had access to a Model A when I was young, but everybody was into muscle cars in the early 70's.

Hang in there a do what you can when you can. Strive for that trad look, but don't get down from some of the comments here. As long as your going for a look backward in time from where it is now, you'll have yourself quite the car by the time you're my age!

The only problem with that MII is that it can be seen on a Model A. If it was a fat fendered car, no one would know it was there (that's what I'm putting under my ride).

yeah, i picked it up for under 2Grand cad how it sat in the pictures on this page,
iève put the 5bolt 11.25 inch disks on the front, lots of misc work, welding, fixing things up, nothing major but going along, i just gotta go pick up a new master cylander today for my brakes, so those are all complete..
is there any way at all for me to make a mstg 2 look niceÉ
becasue the wheel base and such has been changed to replicate the mustang 2, so all the steering and everything is fine, control etc.

but yeah eventually i wanna go straight axle and such, but at 16 now, with a car like this, its a full metal body, customization is endless, just have to go piece by piece slowly but surely ill get there.

proportioning valve delays the action of the rear brakes, an adjustable unit is best as you can tweak it to work best. it goes in line to the rear brakes so that they don't lock up when all the weight is transferred to the front under hard braking.
Have a good look at some of the tech threads on the HAMB. your tastes in hot rods will evolve and fads will come and go, but good engineering practices have been around since Pythagoras had a theorem. Check out in particular Rolf's coupe build, its a very simple car and the build has been well documented, he has made it look as easy as it really is!
Good luck and have fun with it!

lookin around nothing much so might have to order one in, i got some new wishbones as well ill get a pic of. i did somemore research i have a suicide front axle so might not work on this build as it's more for a t-bucket but might be able to adapt it some how.

just to let you guys know, i AM running fenders, up here in vancouver they're pretty strict on them so being 16 and driving a car like this they'll be on my " cow pie " in no time so better be safe than sorry. inspection is needed as well,
so im taking your guys's advice and workin hard lol.

but yeah! that's some sort of update!!!!

judging from some of the "engineering" the previous owner came up with, i'm not sure he could spell xray.

i wouldn't trust anything the previous owner claimed.

take everyone's advice and hold out for a proper frame. it will save you time and headache in the end.

A lot of work done to that body. Doors flush mounted. all belt lines around doors and windows are gone. I getting a 60`s feel to this car.Don`t think trying to make it traditional rod will be a bunch of work.I know one thing I would of love to have it when I was 15.

It looks like a very good start. Alot better car than I had at your age(67 Dodge Dart)Yuck! Don't let the little bit of griping tick you off. These guys on here know what they are talking about and are very usefull to a young hot rodder. The knowledge you gain here couldn't be bought in any book. Looking forward to seeing the progress. If you need any tech tips no matter how small just ask.

Do you have a link to your photo bucket or whatever service you are using for pics. I'd like to see everything. I'm not sure if I'm over looking it or if you took some pics off. I don't see any frame or ladder bar pics other than the front where the Mustang II stuff is welded on.

All of the comments are well intentioned but remember it is YOUR ride so build it to your tastes. The caveat is to to do it right! This means quality and safety. This doesn't always mean costly. Many of us are rodders because it "allows" to use our ingenuity and not follow the crowd whether it be the purist or the "traditionalist" whatever the hell that means! Remember if you are not the "lead" dog your view is never going to change! go for it!
