I finally finished my roadster project. It only took me three years, which is record time for me. I have included a couple of pictures of the car to give you an idea of the finished project. The body is a steel Rod Bod body, the frame is from Classic Street Rod Mfg in Ontario, California. The top is from Rod Tops. It has the typical 350 Chevy engine, Turbo 350 trans, and a Currie Ford 9 inch rearend. The rest of the stuff you can pretty much tell by just looking at it as to what it is. There is no fiberglass anywhere on the car. I really like some of the rat rods that guys are turning out nowadays, but at my age of nearly 70, comfort is the name of the game. I have also installed Vintage air and heat in the car. I realize that the car does not appeal to the taste of everyone, but for me it meets my requirements, especially at my age. I did it all myself except for laying down the paint which I had a professional painter do. I have named the car "The Gray Fox Roadster". As you can tell, everything on the car is gray in color with the exception of the engine. Why I followed that theme I'm not really sure, it just sort of happened that way, besides, it matches the color of my hair!! Let me know what you think. You can even be critical if you want too!
good for you Johnboy...if I see close to 70 and spend 3 years building a project then that would be something itself. Thanks for the inspiration.
Sweet!!! I like the gunmetal look. What kinda wheels are those? They almost look like those ol' kidney bean Halibrands.
Congrats. I wish I could get mine done in 3 years. Good luck with it. now drive it like you stole it. BC
Very nice. I'm 62 and I'll have my 29 done and in paint this spring. 3 years also. It's funny how the older I get the more time becomes the motivator. Enjoy the ride, I know I will.
