    Never were "safe" I"ve seen pieces and parts flying out of those things at several sites. NO ONE like starting a car on them.

    Here's how it looks today. Owned and restored by HAMBer Marlin Huss.

    This is it's next life after the JJ paint. It then went through several hands including George Rupert's as a successful Super Pro car, until Marlin bought and restored it.

    Don't remember if this has been posted here before or not, but it is pretty cool...even if I don't speak French! Shot on October 19, 1966.
    I know I was there because the car I was crewing on is shown in the pits and making a pass.
    This was about 6 weeks before I joined Uncle Sam's Air Follies.

    Man, I swear that is a picture of my late brother Gary and I walking shirtless behind the Big Bad Dodge. He passed away in 1995. I can't positevely ID us, but it sure looks like us!

    Saw a lot of Karbelt cars,love that Ford panel stocker.John Petrie,theres' a name I have not heard in a long time.Great shots,thanks.
