I found the site from the jockeyjournal. I've always been into harleys and american automobiles. i don't contribute much to this board, because i own mostly 80's chevy trucks, so most of my experience is too new for this board. I enjoy the pre 64 stuff, but the late
60's and 70's hot rods will always have a place in my heart too. One day I'll make more money and have a bigger shop and all my cars and trucks will be pre 64.

I was recuperating from knee surgery, surfin' the net big time. Next thing I know, link to link to link and I landed at the HAMB. Many, many hours of amusement and learning. Can't count the times I've laughed out loud at some of the witty comments.

My goggle search for 1937 lincoln zephyr lead me to the hamb, lots of info was had here
As many here think the zephyr is a cool ride. And it has been an interesting site, with tons of old car tech and great history threads. I even learned about the japanese scene. Who would have known? Well I bought the zephyr and the hamb has answered many questions and I've been inspired as what the car must become. I like doing as much work myself and driving as much as possible, not sitting under a tree at a car show next to a piece of fiberglass . That's for the lake not the street. There is a story in that metal, a story you are only chapter in, that car has roamed the earth longer than most of us.
And most on the hamb get it. Merry Christmas

I was told about the HAMB from a couple of young and up coming car builders I met at billetproof back in 2008. I was a lurker for a while then joined. It has been a pleasure to be part of this group.

I know this is an old thread but I'll go ahead and ad my two bits also.

I love cars. I mostly love traditional hot rods but I love many '72 and older cars.
Most of my life I've been into 60's and 70's cars because I couldn't afford a real hot rod and didn't know that many guys running pre 50's cars.

Recently I figured that I can afford to build a model A (or two) and started to search the internet for sources of cars and parts for sale and mostly for knowledge and I came on this site.
Some good classifieds, awesome artists great picture threads and mostly more knowledge to draw on that I am going to find pretty much anywhere else!

I know that at some point I'm going to be asking for specific knowledge when I go to do something like say build up the banger I took out of my model A for another project and I also know that this is going to be one of the best sites to find that information!

got linked here through a google search, lurked around for months. more useful info and less petty bs than other sites i've been on. its a perfect fit for anyone who actually cares about automotive history and putting their own mark on it w/o trampling on tradition.

Found the HAMB through a friend who had been here a couple years before. He warned me about reading the new guy stuff first, and what not to mention. Good warning.

Did a google search for information on a 55 Plymouth I was building. Fell in love with the site. now I come here 2-3 times a day. Great way for a guy to spend his retirement.

  17. I was kidding of course. Anyone else get the other hawaii hamb? It would always come up as my first choice on a google search. Now, it's down further on the list. Probably because our hamb is so popular. Pretty funny though.

A friend of mine told me about the Friday Art show. I draw and paint cars as a sideline and for fun.
I started looking around more and more because I love hot rods ,customs ,old trucks, and old cars in general. I'm on here a lot,but don't post very often.
    love it!!!

Found by accident a couple of years ago and immediately got addicted. Gotta be the best site on the web. I don't post much but love spending a few hours here each week for the history and the inspiration.

  20. I was introduced to the HAMB by my brothers father a fellow hot rodder. After talking to him for awhile he told me about the the site when I was looking into buying a Shoebox. It's been a great help to me for info one motor swaps and different ways about going things with my car. I'm here to stay.

It had been a while since I had a project going in the garage and decided it was time to get a jump on that mid life crisis I'd been thinking about. When business and family pulled me away from the car scene there was no such thing as an internet so figured I'd see what was out there. Found the HAMB doing random searches and couldn't believe it. Sure there were a few knuckleheads but there were also a ton of dedicated folks who live this stuff. There were also some amazing craftsmen who seemed willing to share their incredible knowledge.

I almost feel guilty. I just don't have much to offer and don't want to clutter up threads with a bunch of oohs and aah's. I hope to post a detailed build thread sometime soon. I doubt I can teach you guys anything but there are folks who will WANT to help and others who will get a kick out of watching me ^&%$ stuff up.

Either way I figure it's the least I can do.
