Hey, you can find them often here in Europe cause the were sold all over europe, but i dont like the suicide doors. I love the US-tudors...

we have many flatheads too. the funny thing is that the sellers often do not know what they are selling, so the are cheap!!!

These were sold the last 4 weeks, nice ones too:

what we were working on for the last 2 weeks.
    overview of the frame
    [IMG]

the cross member has been cut to free some space for the T5 trans
    [IMG]

32 original front cross member was cutted appart and rebuilded.
how much lowered it was ?
don't know :D it was looking good like this

center part was dead so we cutted a scare tube to replace it.

another view of the trans cross member.
reenforcement was welded to rigidify the cross member.

Radius rod bracket welded at the right position to get a nice 5° angle on the I-Beam
    [IMG]

steering box was moved forward to allow good clearence with the fenton Exhaust
    [IMG]

    Brake pedal modification
    [IMG]

Today I received the front shocks and mounts.
I couldn't wait to set it up :D
    [IMG]

next time I will put the grill shell to have a look at it :D
    [IMG]

    See you next time

sehr schön....but isn't that also a french army one?

  9. I would really re-think that welded on brake linkage to the pedal, if it snaps you have nothing. I did the same thing and cant wait to change it, I am looking into changing the brake pedal to a F1 pedal, i think it will fit.

sold, so that's a good start) and i have no heating so it's really cold.

the french truck use this tranny.
They tried to use it as a boat anchor on the queen mary, problem : it was too heavy ...
If you want one Bluto ok, but I can't put it on your reserved shelve ...

About the french army flathead, they are not "new" they are rebuilt. Each one is suppose to have a tag with the rebuilt ref.

By the way great work on the 32 !

    8BallCC, great build.

I'm building a 32 roadster, and have a question. While mocking up my front suspension, I noticed I didnt like the way my front shocks mounted. I have the elbow-shaped mount that attaches under the kingpin (nomenclature slips me at this time).

In the pic above, there is a hole for the front shock's lower mounting point. Since I'm running a Superbell dropped axle, I don't have that hole. I guess it's Ford OEM 1932???

What are the dimensions (outside/inside diameter) of that "hole"? I like the asthetics of it, and want to add it to my axle.

    Thanks for the help!

I bought my Dropped I-Beam there:
    http://www.thehotrodcompany.com/shopnow/show_item.asp?product_id=2855p
if you want to bolt your shocks at the same place you need matter to drill into, that is not the case of your I-beam I guess.
the shock mounts that fit into that hole are this one from speedway:

    good luck

I think I've found what I need to get My T5 connected to the torque tube.
It should be a Dana 300 input shaft.
of course I won't use it as it is.
we will have to cut it and wed it to the original Ford 32 Yoke.
I hope it's gonna be done soon enough :)

  23. Do one of you guys recognize this one ?
    It's a French/Swiss 32 Tudor with suicide doors

I for sure recognize that picture - it was from one of the last batches we "rescued" from France.
Next shipment of army surplus French flatheads is scheduled for 2011.
Some HAMBers are already using these blocks, one was campaigned at last year's Race 61 in Finowfurt.
Some V8-60s are still available form a Belgian srcapyard.

new chassis parts are almost finished
    [IMG]

the 2 additional pieces are welded on the cross member but not yet on the frame side
we first need to get the frame absolutely straight, therefore we will take everything apart, once more, and set the frame on what we think is flat :)

next step welded frame and rear end reinforcement.
see you next time, and that will be soon :)
