  2. Here is mine... '62 Fairlane 500, Warm little 302, sounds like a big block with open headers and will lay a patch a block long, its a nice little sleeper.

It's getting a set of astro supremes and ribbon whites for Christmas, maybe throw the skirts on, haven't decided yet. I also want to do the bellflower tips and get her down a little further.

Just got this home. I was going to do a body swap with a coupe I have, but now I'm not so sure. I think I'll drive it around like this for a summer or two.

Good lookin' Fairlane. Like the Chev HEI, most reliable ignition I have ever seen.

  8. Thanks! Ya know, it's a love/hate relationship with the HEI, it's just SO big and stares you right in the face, but part of it is the red cap, I think I'll get a black one, or paint the one I have to tone it down some. But like you said, it's incredibly reliable and parts are available anywhere, or $40 brand new for the whole bits ready to run, you can beat it.

Thanks! We were not expecting to get this many stories just by bringing the car out a few times before summer's end! There was one old timer at one of the last big car shows of the summer. he was quite elderly and had troubles getting around. his son and his sons wife brought him to the cruise that day to see the cars. He saw our old Bettie from across the parking lot and you could just see his face light up. He was hobbling across that parking lot as fast as he could and when he reached the car he was stuttering in excitement and could barely ask if it was the type of car he thought it was. the minute we answere "yup!" the stories started flowing. I think we made his day and that was good enough for us :)

More doors + more people = more fun! Or if you have kids like I do.

Not really a 4dr. fan but I think the older the car the cooler they look.

you shave the rear door handles so people can't just jump in ..
because people who CLAIM to hate the moor doors ,, would really love to be seen in them ... go to a traveling event like a street race ,, or a block party ,, and when the cops arrive ,, 4 doors are the ones that everyone is trying to jump in to so that they can get away ....
ever try getting a group of guys in a 2 door in a big hurry ????

  23. DROP THE OLDSMOBILE! Yes it is and I joke with Trad27 occasionally about it. I coined it "The Oldsmolboat" awhile back.-Weeks
