    Sounds like a really great show. They better show it here in New Zealand or I'm going to start smashing things!

  3. As @slopoke21m already mentioned, Episode #7 (entitled "Making the Scene") aired tonight.

    This episode discussed the transition from the Traditional Hot Rod builds of the '30s & '40s (e.g., the Doane Spencer & Bob McGee Deuce Roadsters) to the Hot Rod Customizers of the 50s & '60s (e.g., Barris Kustoms' Hirohata Merc & the Ala Kart; Roth's Outlaw & Beatnik Bandit; Jeffries' Mantaray, etc.).

    Yet another enjoyable show ... with cool vintage photos ... recent video of iconic Hot Rods & Customs ... and commentary from the following:

    (in order of appearance)
    * Chip Foose
    * Ken Gross (@Chopperken)
    * Steven Young
    * Bruce Meyer (@Deuce Bruce)
    * Greg Sharp
    * Pete Chapouris
    * Leslie Kendall
    * Alex Xydias
    * Tony Thacker
    * Dean Jefferies

    There was even footage of a couple HAMBers cars:

    NOTE: Next week's episode (#8) is entitled "Through a Windshield Darkly".

  7. I've been DVR-ing but have missed episodes. Does the series have a web site? Are they planning a DVD release?

  11. Anybody know where else you might be able to catch the show? DVD/ Internet/ etc.

    Insight canceled HD theater on me about a year ago...

    Are DVDs available for this? Us po' folks don't even have cable much less HD. Lol.

  14. I went on their home page and I didn't see anything offered yet. Maybe it's too soon. Hopefully they will offer it up as a set.

  15. Episode #9 (entitled "A Link to the Past") aired tonight.

    This episode was about preserving the history of our hobby ... more specifically, it was a feature about Hot Rod "Preservationists" like Bruce (@Deuce Bruce) Meyer, Jim Jacobs, Kirk White, Don Orosco, Art Chrisman, Blackie Gejeian, etc., etc.

    Plenty of vintage photos of iconic Hot Rods ... and video footage of them in all their "restored" glory:

    Bill Niekamp Roadster.jpg
    Ray Brown Roadster.jpg
    Dick Flint Roadster.jpg
    Art Chrisman Hustler I dragster.jpg
    Chrisman Brothers Coupe.jpg
    So-Cal Speed Shop Coupe.jpg
    Doane Spencer Roadster.jpg
    Bob McGee Roadster.jpg

    ... plus commentary from the following:

    (in order of appearance)
    * Chip Foose
    * Bruce Meyer (@Deuce Bruce)
    * Leslie Kendall
    * Vic Edelbrock Jr.
    * Pete Chapouris
    * Greg Sharp
    * Ken Gross (@Chopperken)
    * Art Chrisman

    * Roy Brizio
    * Tony Thacker

    NOTE: Next week's episode (#10) is entitled "Barn-Find Belly Tank" :).

    Very enjoyable documentry without a bunch of hollywood fluff . Finally a show about hotrods that does'nt make us look like idiots .

  18. By far......the BEST Hotrod series i've seen on TV! Bruce Meyers and Pete are the nicest guys in the business. They totally get it! Can't wait for the next installment!!!!!

  19. I sure hope we get to see this here in Canada, which has not happened yet. Our Discovery HD, seems to show more British influenced shows, than US influence. :rolleyes:

    Wonderful Show. Being a young gun this show exposed me to a lot of information that I always had questions about. It also helped my wife to see how cool hot rodding is by introducing her to the history behind it. She used to see a chopped model a and think it was a modern hooligan destroying a classic. After being exposed to the show she sees the historical value and realizes that hot rodding in general is derived from raw American ingenuity.

    My dvr is already set. The belly tank one should be good.

  24. I've never met Bruce Meyers (of Meyers Manx dune buggy fame) ... so I can't comment on whether or not he's a nice or classy guy ... but I can say without a doubt that Bruce (@Deuce Bruce) Meyer is a very nice guy and a class act ... I can think of no better caretaker for these iconic & historic Hot Rods ... well, except maybe me :rolleyes: :D.

    Love the show. It got me back in the "hot rod" mind set and as a result, ended up buying my 32 5 window last week. My dream car.

  26. Episode #10 (entitled "Barn-Find Belly Tank") aired tonight.

    This episode was all about the history of the So-Cal Speed Shop ... the original (started by Alex Xydias) and the current shop (run by Pete Chapouris).

    As the title suggests, this episode included footage of Bruce Meyer "finding" the So-Cal Speed Shop Belly Tank in Don Ferguson's "barn" ... and went on to explain how the restored tank was the impetus for the rebirth of the So-Cal Speed Shop logo.jpg brand.

    Again, lots of cool vintage photos and movie footage [I didn't know Alex shut down the shop to pursue making Hot Rod & Auto Racing (B'ville, Drags, Indy 500, etc.) films for the big screen & television] ... plus commentary from the following:

    (in order of appearance)
    * Chip Foose
    * Alex Xydias
    * Pete Chapouris
    * Bruce Meyer (@Deuce Bruce)
    * Jimmy Shine

    Pete Chapouris 'The California Kid' '34 Coupe.jpg

    Jimmy Shine Truck.jpg
    Thacker-Shine B'ville D Blown Street Roadster - Red Hat for Jimmy.jpg

    NOTE: Next week's episode (#11) is entitled "Art with a New Frame" ... I have a feeling it won't be very "HAMB friendly" ... but I'll watch with great interest as Hot Rods created by some family friends will be featured.

    One of the best "trad" history shows on TV right now..

    Even if Chip Foose isn't good at reading off the cue cards...

    I like it a lot.

    Great show. I've been watching them over already.
    Looks like Art Chrisman was a little pissed about his placing at pebble beach. I don't blame him, I love that coupe.
    Next week should be interesting, Chip Foose talking about Boyd C?
