Got the Shoebox painted last weekend, today was the first day I was able to get any good pics. Big thanks to fellow Poorboy Roddy for shooting the kustom shop satin copper pearl for me. I know satin's not everybody's bag, but I like it. I'm not one to name cars but the Beastie Boys song 'Brass Monkey' popped into my head as soon as we reolled it out of the spray booth (which was really just my garage)

The shaved front bumper is out at Ogden chrome getting plated, also waiting on the new glass - Christmas has everyone's schedule a bit tight.

The seats are already done in pearl white vinyl by Fat Lucky's, gonna get the new headliner in tomorrow. Still have to find some matching material so I can stitch up some new door panels.

IF all goes well I'll have it all done and back together by mid-January. May try and have it at the 1962 Autorama at Indy in February.

Update : got the bumper back from Ogden chrome, fantastic work BTW. Here it is now:

When I got it from Hamber Jaker:

Decided to put a '50 Grille back in it.

    Ready for paint -

And today - the color really glows in the sun because of all the pearl.

Made a huge difference. The color is perfect and the grille change made it a home run. Killer work!

It's for sale in the classifieds, click here for the ad. I've had it 'sold' 4 times - twice on the Hamb and twice here locally - buyers always flake before the deal is done.

  23. Looks great.

Grille looks good too, the '49 & '50 single windspinner grilles are awesome. The '51 on the other hand is not quite as sweet, which is why I've got a '55 Dodge grille in mine.
