Linda at Lands End was giving free rides from SLC to the salt. You just had to tip the driver, yeah he wanted a nice tip...You might try telling him to look both ways before you cross the street....
Camping at "bend in the road" is part of the adventure ... there are a lot of people that camp there during Speed Week ... if you go to USFRA or World Finals you can get hotels a lot cheaper ... It is about 5 miles to the salt flats from "Bendover" ... Joe
Be a man and camp out! tents...sterno cooked meals..port-o-lets...listening to the hot rods drive by....I wouldnt have it any other way! and showers?? who needs showers? just rub one of those pine tree air fresheners on ya in the morning...no ones gonna care if you stink a little...HAH!
The main thing is to go!! Don't sweat the details. Details have a habit of sorting themselves out. Bonneville is an adventure for both spectators and racers. Sometimes the adventure can get pretty good if you're racing!!
