I remeber buying them in the early 80's off the rack. I got back "into" them, now have 1-1 through 5-5 (september 1984) I picked up a 7-2 from August of 1997. Talk about a gap in production! Anybody know how many issues that did total? Anybody have any other than the ones listed available?!?!? Also, were they part of the "Lowrider" magazine family?
I've got all the originals buried in the library,I promise to dig them outas soon as I can..did find the later issues, picked them up from the publisher.Roger Cevallos, at a show somewhere..the late ones I have are May 96,called Vol.6,No. 1.Mar-April 97,called Vol.7,No.1,and No.2,dated August 97..Don't think I saw another one after that
if you go to swaps and shows in the S.F. Bay Area you will see the publisher. I'm not sure if mine survived the "too many friggin magzines ebay extravaganza" of 2005, but I know I kept at least one.. it had a buddies Plymouth coupe in it.
Do you remember the 50 Ford convertible(project 50).Lee Pratt was building for a project for the magazine.Carson top with 50 pontiac taillights, it was bought by a guy (unfinished), he had it at the Des Moines World of Wheels.
I used to have them all from the '80's....It was the only magazine that would publish my cartoons, and that was because they didn't have to pay for them.... I probably made 5 issues....it stroked my much younger ego. Yes, they were a part of the Lowrider family....JPR
Rogelio is bringing it back. (RCPromotions on here) Give him a shout. I believe there was 30 issues total.
I saw Rogelio today. He is pretty excited about bringing it back (tired of all the over-advertised, under-contented crappola out there). Aren't we all? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=538904&page=3&highlight=definition
