Just a few pictures of an old man's collection over the years. 800 plus cars scattered all over, in trees, pastures, hills and buildings. Spent a whole day looking and never came close to checking them all out. Going back at xmas to view more. Went to only 2 of 4 places where they are setting. This is where the 1950 ford truck I posted aboutearlier is. Enjoy, I did.
The 57 Olds has a big block dual quad under the hood. Says it runs. Just get it running and drive it.
He was naming prices on everything that I asked about. I believe everything is for sale for the right price. However, there were some cars for sale the first time that I asked and later he didn't know and would think about it. So..........I can't say everything for sure. I'll ask for sure in a few days when I go back for xmas.
I'll do that dieselc. But, that is one that I asked about and it was for sale, wasn't for sale, was for sale, then I'll have to think about it. I'll see what I can do.
I am one of the few people he has sold to in recent years. He has a dealer's license and I once asked him how many he sold in a year. His answer..."last year I only sold one" --- I said well, "I bought one from you" he said "yep, that was the one!" He is my good buddy and has had tons of stuff stolen and is gun shy when dealing with strangers.
1954 I believe. If it's like the dodges of the day that scoop and the "V" on the hood indicate a hemi. Can't remember if the Desoto's from that year have the big pig of a bellhousing for the fluid drive or not. Either way would be worth asking about. Scott
Yea, it's a '54 DeSoto then it'd be a 276 hemi, none of the DeSoto hemi's had a cast in bellhousing, all were removeable. Check the DeSotos for hemi's, nice to have.
Didn't see your post until after mine went up below. Forget that I mentioned a hemi. If these pics were posted up here without him knowing about it then I want no part of this thread.
Man U should ask him if you can post his contact info that there are alot of interest in his cars if he wants to sell them and post more pics!
This guy has a dealer license because it allows him to buy cars at wholesale price. Alot of his cars are later model 60's or 70's. Most of the real desirable models such as the ones pictured here belong to his brother or sister and are generally not for sale at any price. These folks are farmers and junk collectors and have tons of trouble with the State and county zone enforcement nazis and hate publicity because it just brings them trouble. For example, selling parts is not allowed by the State because it implies that you are running an illegal salvage yard.
