Wow T-Head that shoe store sign brings back memories.Cancellation shoes was a chain in the Detroit area.I guess they sold discontinued shoes but i remember going to their East Dearborn store in the mid sixties and buying my Points, sharp toed shoes, with Cuban heels and so did many of my friends.I sure miss those days and the shoes!

Damn.....I can still remember falling down the stairs while wearing my new patent leather alligator platforms. And the Eleganza ads were always on the last page of Jet magazine. You still see dudes wearing that stuff in New York City today.

  16. Wow! Cool stuff! I was but a teen in the '70s but I did wear "Angel Flights" anyone remember those?

This looks like Fort Smith, Arkansas, with the church at the end of downtown.

I'm almost convinced it is on further review. There is a hotel on the north side of the road just before you get to the church. There is a hill at the church. The shadows are right with the sun coming from the right which would be south. Can't make out the license tag on the car, it could be either Arkansas or Oklahoma as Oklahoma is about 1/2 mile behind the photographer. Much of the west end of Fort Smith's downtown was destroyed in a tornado in the 90's, but I believe from where this picture was taken, if it is Fort Smith, all these buildings are intact except for a few including the hotel which is now a parking lot for the church on Sundays and a Goodwill store the rest of the week.
