Wonder if this deuce roadster is the former Dave Marquez Ardun-powered car from central Calif? Story I remember is that Dave sold the car to a guy in Memphis named Gilbert Bugg...also assume that the "Robilio" is Marshall Robilio, also from Memphis...later the roadster supposedly wound up in Alabama, but Dave Marquez never was able to find it before he died a few years ago...anyone else know anything about it??

How cool. The Hrudka Bros (spl) CC/GS (blown 265" in Chevy) getting slightly crossed up.

Yes it is. We bought it from Doc in the winter of '67, only ran it three times with injection and AWB. We pushed the wheels back to stock (it had three locations for wheelbase) and made a panel to cover the enlarged opening, put the carbs back on it, and ran a heads up super stock series(forerunner to pro stock) at Conn Dragway in '68. The best of times...
BTW, folks always talk about altereds and their short wheelbases at 98 inches. This car as seen in this pic has a 100 inch wheelbase, the chassis was modified by a for real blacksmith, the only guy Doc (he was a veternarian) knew that could weld. The car ran straight as a string.

Good story on the 3 wheelbase locations. The blacksmith being the only welder Doc knew was great.Love that stuff.
