Here's something for the midwest (Minnesota/Iowa) guys. Jack McCorkell and the first version of the Thurmer Brothers (Jackson, MN) #102 modified from the early '60's. I currently own their second generation car (which was smaller and lighter). You can see the engine in my avatar.

I was watching American Pickers last night on TV. The guys were going through a warehouse/storage building in New York City. They ran across an old racing poster from the Weissglass Speedway. A couple of the cars were a #100 (plus sign) and a Z. Did anyone else see this or know of this track?

Weissglass was out on Staten Island. A 1/5 almost perfect circle. Neat little place, went there a few times in the mid sixties, like stepping back in time.

Here's a link that explains the place real well.

A couple of old photos of George LeBlancs 100+, from Weissglass Speedway on Staten Island...
George has his own website that has information and photos from
    Weissglass Speedway...
And he's a nice guy, we were up there visiting my mom, and I took my boy by to see the old cars, George took the time to show him around, and even gave him a Weissglass Speedway t-shirt...

If you're using windows media player you can use the large center button to pause it, and thanks for the feed back.

If you use the large center button, you can pause the slide show to view the content as long as you wish, hope that helps assuming you're using windows media player. Vineland spdwy was on Delsea Drive.

That sign that was on American Pickers I made a couple of years ago to display with my vintage stock cars at shows. I sold it to that guy along with two bumper cars. I use smaller 4x4 signs now at shows. I got alot of emails and calls and sold a few t-shirts from it though. Great publicity. George,
Yes, no problem, just let me know where to e mail them.
I used to go to Weissglass every Saturday night, 1969 or so,
until it closed. Thanks for keeping the memories alive.
