ID help, 1958 Kellison J4R front spindles etc

    Anybody out there know what the brakes (10" dia) spindles,etc..
    come from originally? Does the axle look familar?

    Eric, been around old cars all of my life and never seen a brake system like that.

    Axle ends appear to be tube, but your photo showing the center indicates a beam axle. And...that beam axle appears to have been shortened and welded. Without knowing who did the welding and what they used, I'd be very careful.

    Kellison bodies were designed to fit several popular frames...most popular were TR3, MGA and Austin-Healey. Those all had smaller brakes such as your car (earlier years, before discs) but none had a straight axle like is shown in your picture. Look for any ID tags on the frame - see if you can determine what was originally used. Otherwise, you can just keep btt-ing this post and hope for an answer sooner or later.
