The Hot Wheels 100% line has a bunch of really cool cars. A couple of pics of some of my collection.

(not all of the ones pictured are hot wheels)

And just so nobody gets upset about the hot wheels & no models here is a 40 I am working on.

    Thanks for all the comments...

Gary N., this is the only 1/8 jalopy I have going, but I am gathering parts for an early to mid-60s supermodified in 1/8 also. I will be chopping up a 3 window deuce for that one.

Gary B., I also have an early modified 1/8 scale 3 window deuce in my photo album. I may have posted it in Sunday models before, so you can either go to my photo album, or I will post it here, if you like.....

OK, here is another early shot.....I scratch built the 30s era wide five hubs and the radiator, which is based on a '50 Ford pickup. I will be posting more pics as it progresses (I am kind of a slow builder, though!)

Car toon, what is your method for creating the vintage arc welds on the roll cage?

Car toon, that is some excellent work. Can't wait to see more.

Just chopped a 1/8 scale resin 5 window, a few weeks ago.

    http://www.edeuce.com/products.html

they have a five window & a three window & a 29 roadster body along with a bunch of other detail stuff (heads, intakes, etc).

There is also a resin deuce tub available too. It is from a different guy than the edeuce stuff. http://www.scalemotorcars.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=129

if you are into big scale stuff check out http://www.scalemotorcars.com/forum/ lots of cool builds on there.

I use BSI INSTA-CURE IC-GEL (a super glue type gel) to simulate the welds.

I also got mine from edeuce.com. He also casts just the deuce tops to fit the Revellogram kit body. He also offers a '32 sedan, but hasn't done those in a while. Some of us have been pestering him about that for a while now! Maybe if somebody else could put a bug in his ear, he might realize there is a worthwhile demand??:D

I bought a resin 3W Coupe body from Scale Motor Cars... I'm also one of the moderators on that site.. You guys should check the place out! We're in the middle of a model car contest that anyone could join in with a 1/16 or bigger scale kit. :)

Just as a heads up for an HAMBers in Ohio. Marc's stores has a bunch of these kits pretty cheap. Most of them are 1/32, I believe.

  30. OK, now you got my attention!! I've been working on a dirt track/homebuiltstyle modified chassis for some time now. I can appreciate the "slow builder" comment, sometimes, when I hit a snag it may be months before I come back to the bench.
I've built several 1/8ths, and have a sizeable box of left over parts. So I thought I'd build a sort of "homebuilt" supermodified chassis to hang my extra parts on.
Right now, I'm struggling with finding a suitable medium for body panels.
I can make them from evergreen sheet, but after a few tries, they don't look quite right. I'm thinking of thin sheet aluminum or brass.
Busy as a one arm guy right now, but if I get time I will post a pic of what I have so far.
In the meantime, i'm keeping track of your excellent work, and getting great ideas. Thanks, Mike ;)
