These trucks need fenders! Did you find a Knox box, or International? We cut the back window, after seeing the "big" back window, I kinda like it...
We drove one of those around when we were kids. Fishing truck. Not a lot of room in them to start with.
its a international box made in canada. do you have any pics of your international. i would like to see the back window ,
Nice looking section or body chop, novice here..why is the body trimmed at 90 degree angles instead of straightr across? Do the corners make it stronger?
sorry man I just saw this... That photo sucks a little better, we used round stock to recreate the curves at the bottom of the window.
I believe sectioning is what we always used to call it. I like 'em sectioned as long is it isn't so extreme that the vehicle looses its personality. But 3" looks OK so far.
To me the best looking part of these trucks has always been the grille/dog-house. I cannot understand why anyone would go fenderless with a different grille shell. That kind of thing should be left to a truck with less personality.
I've owned three KB's... very nice trucks. There was one at BTTF's several years ago... the guy took some of the "bulge" out of the top. Basically he did a slcice and dice taking the top down about 2"... gave it better proportions (IMHO) and it looked chopped after it was done since those windows are pretty small anyway.
Yep, using the correct terminology will help a bunch. Sectioning not body chop. Channeling not body drop.
It is a stock 3/4 ton frame, cut with a 6" Z. The rear spring hangers are mid 70's blazer mounted inboard raised up 5" with s-10 springs and rear. The front is clipped with a 70's Trans Am subframe and steering welded on 2" above the frame. The entire frame is boxed....
MANNN! i got unbanned at the right time. ahaha. fuckin love that binder man!, got me a 59 and a 46 1 1/2 dumptruck , the 46 is my never ending project, i'm thinking of making it into a cabover delivery.
here is a update on my 41... new latch old latch. body back from getting primed.. 1984 s-10 frame with 305! body mounted to frame! way to low grill is touching brick!. 3" lift spindles to come, steering coloumn installed.. check ou the spider! i wonder when this little fucker crawled in here and died more updates to come , just finishing up all the small shit.
Great looking work. I have been looking for a nice grill. The grill is everything on these '40's era binders. I'm staying with a stock frame and using a chev 292/200-4R. The inline six sets in real nice. I'm using a mustang II front suspension. Look forward to checking on your progress.
Looks good. I put mine on a S10 frame also. Had to take 2" out of lower grill cuz it touched the ground.
yeh i was goin to section my grill , then i bought some 3" lift spindles off airbagit.com now my front clip dont drag on the ground i have 3" of clearance. worked put real nice
