Art & Inspiration Sunday models

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Lyle Willits, Nov 28, 2010.

  1. I just finished this one yesterday. '41 Chevy cab and shortened bed on a '32 Ford frame. ( Sounds wierd but it works). Hemi with a Latham blower. Bic cigarette lighter fuel tank (shortened and cut down). Scratchbuilt tie-down rack in bed. Most of interior scratchbuilt.

Very nice job on the junk yard... I have been thinking of doing a garage diorama. Could you share your technique for weathering wood ?

Just a heads up, Meijers has a display of plastic models for Christmas. Most are late models and muscle cars, but I did find the Revell 5-window '32 for $11.99.

    Great looking models again today!

Here is some progress on a 1/8 scale California jalopy dirt tracker. The oil can is used as a radiator overflow catch can...

  16. Wheels and caps are from the '41 Chevy truck kit. The slicks on the rears are resin from The Modelhaus.
Thanks to all for the nice comments.

Here's one I built a few months ago. Just dug it out and thinking of finishing it.
Not even close to whats posted here, but I built it from some scrap tin and a small sheet of wood.

You got it. Here is an earlier shot of the engine....there is a scratch built fuel pump not yet installed and a "sheet metal" firewall has been substituted for the stock one shown in this photo.

    Cartoon,
How many of these 1/8th Jalopies do you have built now? Got enough for a trophy dash yet? Gary
