The wife and I are....uh...debating...on her 55 Chev PU, she wants to go with 1959 Caddy taillights frenched into the fenders, in a stacked configuration red white red (an homage to the Impala) I'm thinking it might be too busy looking. I came across a set of 61 Buick Invicta taillights which I am going to use on my 55 when the time comes. MY question: Who made the prettiest taillight? I've always liked the 56 Monarch taillight myself...but not on these trucks of course...although...
i think the 38-39 lincoln zephyr taillights are cool. they are teardrop shape but bigger than the 38-39 fords and have 2 metal bands across the top. speedway sells them. see for yourself: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/1938-1939-Lincoln-Zephyr-LED-Taillights,8978.html
These are on my 56, but as I said in the "Mother" thread, I don't know who's/what they are, on the fenders, but they're LED's.. Anyone know?
59 Caddy tail lights belong on 59 Caddys only, imo. I like the 58 Buick, but it's kind of limited by it's shape.
my favorites are 39 lincoln, but probably not on that year truck, i've seen them with 50 merc lights and they look good mr. jean those are 39 ford repop lights
FNG We don't do fake LED's round here. This is the second question about the much overused and abused repro Caddy tail light lenses this week! Something in the weather ?
I think the most over used and rated is the 39 tear drop style. I'm sure glad the fad for 65 Mustang tail light is over.
how about 6 49-50 ford lights in a rolled pan under the tailgate 3 on each side of course frenched or not
The two of you might find a compromise in the '53 Buick tailight or something similar. Still conical as is the Cadillac lens, but not nearly as extreme. How about a sectioned (shorter) Cad lens? I like cone shapes...something about it attracts me...can't figure out why.
Check out Jeffery James thread about tail lights from months ago, That's why a search is your friend....
