the one that immediately comes to mind was an old 69 camaro with the name Hemi Hunter on the quarters And then my friends call one of my cars the golden devil [71 dodge demon] also the name big blue bug that was given to a a 69 impala wagon with a 427 ex brocton cop car
I remember racing at SIR in Kent , Washington in the early 80's and two cars that stuck in my mind were a '62 Falcon named "Dr. John" and a '64 Chevy II wagon named "Quick Nick" . Both cars didn't disapoint they were both quick and the Falcon had a wicked engine set back.Rob.
Down the block from were I grew up there was a sattelite named GANGGREEN always thought that was cool.sorry no pic
There was a 66 Chevelle called Blood, Sweat and Gears here in Canton, Ohio in the late 60's early 70's. I always liked that name. The Goat Hearder. It was Bridenthal Ford's Thunderbolt.
Dr. John, was John Bertolli (sp?, and last I heard he'd become a golfer), I think the Quick Nick Nova wagon is now the Al Chinn car. John Betolli's younger brother had a 55/56 4 door dodge called the Quad Dodge, but it no where near the quality of the John's Falcon. Butch/56sedandelivery.
Had this on the tank of a Triumph drag bike "Well Oil Beef Hooked". Read it out loud in your best Scottish accent.
I've been helping a buddy of mine with his drag car. His last name is "Clap", been trying to get him to letter his car "CLAP's TRAP" and put "you can't catch the clap" on the trunk.
I think the Dr. John Falcon was Cleveland powered, as I remember that it used to rev to the moon . I also remember a Chevy II wagon run by two gals as well and it was just as beautiful as the gals working on it ...Flawless. Man that was a long time ago but the memories are just like yesterday. Rob.
Our camaro has been ROVIN GAMBLER since 1971 A few other cool names i saw over the years were THE LEMONATOR THE LIMEANATOR MONEY BURNER BAD COMPANY BLACK GOLD TALL HOG SHOCK WAVE
loos caboos, laboose was the only man out there that i dreaded on the tree. it was always a toss up who cut the best lite. he was a class or 2 below me but real hard to beat off the line
In the motorcycle community there are web sites dedicated to listing club names alphabetically to prevent duplication. I wonder if there are any like that for car clubs or car names. If not, would HAMB be a place to start one?
my 62 nova is called DEUCE BAG can't find any pics to load,i'm sure some one has a pic of it on here.
Heres one, but I don't think this ones yours as I know the owners of this one! Lol Photo credit goes to mad mark at the drags in '09
Really cool 1965 Plymouth here in town with "G-TOWN GRENADE" on the side. I will see if I have a picture of the car.
